It feels like the matchmaking is genuinely more forgiving when running solo.
We played in a team of three last night and constantly kept getting matched up against teams of four or more with 380+ light players. |

The light level difference is staggering. I've never really been on the shit end of the stick when it comes to light level in PVP until now. At 365-370 light, I was getting two tapped by 380+ light players using hand cannons.
I bet you could one shot body shot someone at 365ish or lower if you were 385 with one of the really high impact snipers. |

I'll be happy to get my Titan to IB LVL 5 that's the only character I've played at all since the new DLC dropped. |

That somewhat trivialized the raid, IMO, when most all of the big names who went in for world first were near or at max light. It has definitely broken Trials and Iron Banner, IMO, putting those who haven't grinded to max light at a significant disadvantage to folks who are 380+ light. And now less than a month into Rise of Iron, the heroic raid is set to release, with 400 light capable rewards. Slow down, Bungie. |

Hell, I just last night got one character to a consistent 360 - the min recommended for the Normal strike. And that was at least in part to doing things from below the recommended level.

Yup there is a large group of players who are at 386 which is basically "max" light at the moment. I feel they are just rushing content st this point and the game will be dead again in a month. After these matches in IB tonight I'm seriously considering how long I'll be playing. Might not be much longer.

I hit rank 5 in IB and I'm done, not even going to test my sanity and run my titan or warlock through. I highly doubt I play it the next time Supremecy comes around either. I'm no MLG Pro, but I also don't usually finish in the bottom 2, which is where I was constantly finishing. The gameplay just isn't for me, but I did notice I started to do better when I switched to my Bladedancer.
Oh well, after all was said and done, I made it up to 380. I guess I should be good to raid now. |

In tower north, over by the Speaker. And he's got some new shit with him.
Thagomizers - grants amplify and an extra melee charge. Titan melee is kinda shit anyways, although I dunno. These with transfusion might be helpful if you're using striker titan in the raid, gives you two shots to heal yourself. They're new so I dunno how useful they are or aren't exactly. Im gonna buy them and try them out. Shinobu's Vow - better skip grenades, and you get two of them. Well, two grenades are always good. Mostly a PVP buy, IMO. Fast res thingy for warlocks, the name of it honestly escapes me right now. Everyone should eventually own a keeper of the pack exotic for their class. Not an urgent buy though, especially if you don't play a lot of 3v3 PVP. Thunderlord - fun to use if nothing else. It's one of my favorite exotics in the game. But it doesn't really accomplish anything that a nice legendary machine gun wouldn't. But it is very good, looks cool, sounds cool. Legacy primary. |

As painful as IB Supremacy has been the drops are quite good. 4 LL gained just by grinding it. I may even fire up the alt this weekend and give it a shot for more loot.

Ran the raid this evening with randos from LFG.... NO prob getting to Aksis phase 2 but we were all severely under leveled at that point, all high 360s. Wiped a dozen times and people started quitting.

I was 369, and everyone else on the team was 370+, and life was considerably easier at Aksis. I still had to be very careful when dealing with the captains, but the rest of the team's light level carried me. I also made up the difference though with generous use of my super and heavy. The raid gauntlets are fantastic for this, the game basically throws heavy at you with the bonus perk on the gauntlets. I don't know if there's been a raid yet where I have used my super so many times during the last fight. If you aren't a defender titan with weapons of light for added boss damage, and/or you're a little underleveled for this thing, don't by shy at dumping a super to kill a captain. Those things are just so incredibly lethal if you aren't 370+, and they're still very dangerous even then. After that, it's just a matter of communicating and organizing your empowered guys, to make sure you don't miss a slam on Aksis. The guy in the middle needs to watch out for teleports to the far upper back area of the room, and the guys on left and right need to cover left, right, and the low middle area. Stage the cannons in the middle area where they can be grabbed easily for the third teleport/real DPS phase, and pour it on. Get your hunters to tether, and your titan dropping weapons of light, and nuke from orbit, everything y'all got for the actual DPS phase. |
