That's disappointing. Something in the engine makes me dizzy after about a half hour of play time. If I can't get a fix figured out, I'll have to part ways with SC as pushing that whole dizzy feeling is a good way for me to end up getting sick. I've already done the head bob and fov edits too.

That's odd. I'm one of those rare people that some games just make me sick. I can't play anything done in the Valve engine for example. I can play for about a half hour before feeling like I'm going to puke and pass out. Crossing my fingers for optimizations to fix that. I know CIG has had a lot of folks mentioning it to them, so they are aware. If not, ARF will get a screaming deal on a bunch of ships. |

If you have a Vanguard, take off that stupid rotary cannon and replace it with something else. Anything else, it's a total POS in 2.1.
If you also have a Constellation, use one of the M6As, it works awesome and gets close to the nose gun point of aim. Kharn |

I just had a fun experience:
Flying around Security Station Karesh in a Constellation, I got smoked by a guy in a Vanguard. I don't know if he got a lucky cockpit shot with a ballistic weapon, missiles (I never saw a warning light), or if my ship glitched, but I was killed in about 2 seconds. I hopped in a Super Hornet and went back for some revenge... While monitoring chat, I learned another Vanguard with a third guy in the turret was heading to Karesh to support the first guy. I made a few high speed passes in cruise mode, but couldn't get them to separate, and couldn't do any meaningful damage in the short window I had to shoot. Meanwhile, I was afraid of getting boxed in because the Vanguard has a much higher cruiser speed, despite its lower combat speed, so I activated my Q-drive to come in from another angle. Returning to the area, I jousted once with the first guy at cruise speed, but on the second pass, I cut my throttle, fired two missiles at close range and opened up with the guns. My superior maneuvering and skillful shooting (or just dumb luck ) resulted in me dropping his front shield in time for the two missiles to slam home and destroy his ship. In the meantime, the second Vanguard lined up an attack run, while his gunner knocked out my port shield. I started to boost to cruise speed, but quickly cut my throttle and the guy flew right by me (just like Top Gun...sort of...). From there, I used my superior maneuverability to circle strafe mostly out of the line of fire of his main guns, and took him out with only minimal damage to my port fuselage. During the last part of the fight, I fired the rest of my missiles at the second guy, but none hit. He fired a few at me that I avoided. It was my first significant fight outside of Arena Commander, and what fun! Combat is incredibly dynamic, and being able to use cruise mode and Q-drive to gain an advantage is really something special. I can't wait for the finished game! |

Apparently they are trying to get the Sabre flight ready for the next patch.
Also, griefers in Crusader can go fuck themselves. I was repairing at cryastro in my Mustang Delta only to have a Connie ram into me at full speed. Almost as bad as the fucker that stole my freelancer with me in it. |

Though I've had a lot of fun the last couple of days outfitting my Super Hornet with ballistic weapons (3x S3 Tarantulas 2x S2 Sawbucks) and guarding people trying to repair at CryAstro or do the mission at Covalex. The ballistic guns will shred any fighter with a short burst, and a Constellation with a slighting longer one. |

View Quote I haven't played in like 6 months and I'm gleeful over all the new stuff. Particularly I can now fly my Vanguard I got forever ago! That gun is disappointing as hell though. Needs a massive buff. I used to go around spraying the universe with the nosegun on the Avenger in Vanduul Swarm and frigging destroying everything. I don't know if it'll still do that as my Avenger ignores half my inputs so I can't fly it. But the Vanguard's nosegun won't even kill a Vanduul Hunter worth a damn unless you're close enough to land consecutive cockpit hits, it overheats in only a few seconds, and takes about a week to cool down. Nosegun needs a massive buff. |

Now this is what I got a Hornet Ghost for. Sitting at Cry-Astro, blending into the structure, weapons and engines powered down. Watching an Aurora repair himself after an array mission. Super Hornet griefer jumps in and starts trying to shoot him on the pad, and completely does not detect me.
It went badly for him. Element of surprise > 2 more guns and bigger shields. And yes, the Aurora lived to see another day. |

Haven't logged in in a minute...maybe i'll get some free time this weekend or next weekend... I had both and ended up keeping the Ghost and CCUing the Super Hornet into a Sabre. The turret was fun, but... the baby PU is validating every notion I ever had of hanging out as a powered-down (except shields) spider on structures and always getting to engage on my own terms. Finding good hiding spots and just lurking is turning into an addiction already. Doubly so when something like the above happens. "Pew pew, Aurora!" "No, PEW PEW ON YOU FROM OUT OF NOWHERE BIATCH! OH! YOUR $165 FIGHTER ASPLODED!" I just wish Vanduul Swarm still worked like it used to where the Vanduul spawn at the edges of the map and you have to close with them. The Ghost was a lot of fun there, getting up to speed on an intercept course and then killing the engines and weapons and drifting into battle. Vanduul wouldn't even detect you until you were within 1.5km. Good stuff. That does still work for the de facto PvP area around Kareah though. Drop out of a quantum jump drifting toward the station, kill the engines and weapons and drift in. Get to see who's up to what and decide if I want to stay or leave. |

Just an FYI for anyone interested, you can effectively roll back any CCUs you've made that you regret with the current unmelt system. Just tried it out; works. You can melt the ship, then buy the base ship back and the balance of what you paid for the CCU goes into store credit.
You can even make an ungiftable ship giftable if you melt it and then rebuy it with cash. Pretty nifty for those situations where you upgraded and then regret it, or say, "Fuck, I've got too many ships, I need to get rid of some but they're not giftable." |
