The servers have been down almost all day and it's pissing me off. I've got 3 cars I bought and built specifically for auctioning and now I can't sell them.
Oh, and the physics are whack in the online soccer games. ![]() |

Also true of the V8 solstice I upgraded. What am I doing wrong? Vipers and Ferraris handle like a dream and the old muscle cars handle well enough given their limitations. Not sure to be honest. I've had very few issues driving my A class Mustangs fast with minimal problems. I won a Corvette GS and had plenty of issues with it being tail happy when stock. I'd be happy to look at one if your cars or maybe make a tune for one you can try. |

It seems to usually be a case of the chassis having more power than designed. I've found the cars that drive well without TCS, are proper race cars, or designed with racing in mind. V8 solstice not having traction.....you dont say... ;) I drove the R2 Ferrari F50GT - that car is a dream without TCS and makes loads of power. When upgrading those cars that are tail happy, add more rear tire, add tire compound, DONT add more power....they clearly have enough. Also, dont be afraid to run TCS. |

The vette, i've got the ZO6 rated as a perfect A class, loves to bite you if you are 2-3 miles an hour over speed for a corner.
I'm going from horrible understeer going into a corner to rather nasty hard to correct overover steer. Speeds in and out of the corner with partial throttle is critical. I'm really good at all forms of the maple valley tracks and the ZO6 has me ripping my hair out. No engine mods, just suspension, gearbox, and brakes due to any other tweaks throwing it out of A class and into S class. Now that that is out of the way. I have a real problem with the way they threw together the "choose event" section. There is not as much flexibility in taking cars across multiple events, you are excluded from competing in a variety of races due to too many configuration/class/manufacturer requirements. And the reason for wanting to race that event is due to the correct combination of track configuration and direction with the class type. They need an event that is "A class open" with more than 3 stupid tracks in the "event". They need to give more than a token 2 lap race, oh wait I think I may have seen a token 3 lap or 5 lap race. Whatever happened to the 10-15 lap races much less the enduro races? How about the "super lap days" from F3 where you could race the really big tracks where a single lap was guaranteed to be 7-10 minutes? They spent so much time on the nuances that they dropped the ball on the things they'd already done correctly in F3. Sadly there are not as many fun events to race. |

Also, you can tune some of the oversteer out. Bring the accel diff down, adjust downforce so that there is twice as much downforce in the rear then front, have the front tires have slightly more pressure then the rear, soften up the rear sway bar twice as soft as front. Overall you want to try to induce as much understeer into the car as you can before it becomes too much understeer. |

I'll throw up my Mustang tune's to my StoreFront when I get home for free. They seem to work pretty well for me.
As an aside, i've read a lot of people complaining about the adapting difficulty of the AI, but i've not really had any problems with being able to muscle in to first place. In all honesty, my only problems so far have been getting out of the pack and not over driving the car through corners. How about you all? |

The AI is constantly over taking me when I get a little sloppy in the corners but I can normally rub my way back into first. Here is a screen grab from Days of Thunder. Rubbing is racing!

Is the game worth it if I only have a gamepad? Thanks to microsofts fucking retarded hardware decisions my G25 isn't compatible and I don't plan on dropping the coin for the game plus a wheel any time soon.
edit: Tried the demo. They did it again Is this the case with a wheel too or do they just figure since I'm using a gamepad I'm kidding when I put it on simulation and take all the assists off? Graphically I still give GT5 the edge in all areas. Something about the Forza series has always seemed plastic and cartoony to me. The cars still look damn good, the tracks look decent only though. From what I'm reading it seems the career mode shines above GT5 aside from the challenge modes in GT5. No rain, no night, no dirt are all but it seems like an all around fun game. Not a true sim, however(unless the assists really do go completely away with a wheel).
All in all I'm a little disappointed with the driving but I might buy it anyways as, despite my reoccurring disappointment with the Forza series as a sim I always seem to have fun playing it. Custom liveries are always a huge win. |

I am using the control pad with steering set on simulation and NO assists other than I don't use a clutch. I can throw the cars around like crazy.
I've gotten to within maybe 3 seconds of the top times on a couple of tracks. I've got tuning tweaks to make and I bet I can shave a second off of a couple of my times. |

Okay, the rivals stuff is the most addictive part so far.
I've gotten a tuned 426 b class 79 camaro up to 151st place in the Maple Valley time attack. Few more tweaks and I should break into the top 100. I've watched the club that has the top 10 spots and they are all using the same club car. Watching the replay and the telemetry gave me enough info to go back and overhaul my car to jump from the 300s up into the 100s. The key was having a boosted car, I need to tweak the supercharger and tune to match what they are using though as I'm not topping out at the same speeds or accelerating as well as their car. |

What is killing me is that if I am in a braking or turning position early for a corner the AI cars can cause me to spin very easily. However, if it is the opposite and the roles are reversed, it is nearly impossible for me to spin the other cars in a pit maneuver whether it is deliberate or not. Hell, a full on intentional ram at 20-30mph difference doesn't seem to have the effect that some of the impacts of a AI car simply tapping my rear corner tends to have.
It's getting pretty tiresome and it is what keeps me from ever really venturing away from anything above A class. B and C class being the primary places I tend to want to be because cars tend to behave like cars. |

I tried S class for the first time last night and it was frustrating with a controller. Not enough fine control to make it handle properly. Way too much over steer.

C class muscle Time Attack. Go beat it up with a 79 Camaro. Fun track, love Maple Valley. I hope they will change it in a month to the full track, anything B through S class. I love the S class Porsche on full track Maple valley. That is about the limits of my reflexes and predictable car behavior(other than the Lotus which is glued to the track like snot to a tissue, just no top end). |

I'd have to say that F4 is overall better than F3 but my biggest let down was the replacement of car levels with manufacturer levels. Having car levels gave me a reason to drive all the cars I own in F3 now i haven't even touched maybe half of the cars in my garage in F4. IDK this just really peeved me.
