I need to snap some more recent pics, but this is where we (wife, middle son, and I) work out...

The room is L shaped, and the portion of the room you can't see in the pics (to the left of the Powerblock stands) houses a VKR, two spin bikes, a rower, and a dip stand.

The biggest challenge I face down there is not popping a hole in the water tank when I pull the bar out of the rack.

Nice, but you've got to get that wallboard up so you don't breath in fiberglass insulation

Also dust would be a concern in an unfinished home basement gym.

Drywall and flooring are on the list, but nowhere near the top right now. Have to finish my camper and a few other projects first.

As far as the basement dust goes, it's nothing compared to the chalk dust that accumulates down there.

It's really not as dungeony as the picture, it's all open behind me and the right over by the wood stove.

It's great working out at home though, takes me about 2 minutes to get to the gym.

Pretty jealous of all these setups, hope to build my own lifting place within the next year. My gym is a 20 minute drive one way, which isn't a lot, but I'd like to have the option of lifting at home.

Pretty basic.
plus bands, Kettlebell, farmer's carry buckets, dumbells & vest& outside pullup bar.
A bench and safety stands also. Gets the job done.
Super flat, coated, hard floor is great for squatting.

Can I get some more info on your platforms? They look great. Still trying to figure out what to do in my great room to protect the floor. Since the carpet is coming out eventually I am not really worried about it but I don't want to mess up the concrete underneath.

Majority of my training is the Olympic lifts so mine is built for sound/vibration control and creating a level surface.

I basically did this:

Attachment Attached File

To level, I just ripped the joists at different heights.  My garage has about 1 1/2" slope over 8'.

For sound/vibration each well has layers of carpet padding, Walmart gym flooring and horse mats.  Bouncy, but quiet.

If level is an issue, it's easier to rip your 2x4s at the angle you need rather than like I had to.  If noise and impact aren't concerns then 2 layers of ply and a layer of horse mat works fine.  If you do drop a lot, be ready for those 2x4 joists to become toothpicks especially at 12" or 18" spacing.

Couple tips; don't glue.  It doesn't do anything but create a PITA when you want to change it in 6 months.  Careful with the lifting surface, don't sand it smooth or put some slick stain on it, you'll end up doing the splits instead of a squat or jerk some day.

Number 1 was outside of Camp Lejeune.  It's where all the magic started.  Also, behold my motivated t-shirt.

Number 2 was where it all continued.  Big time, big lifts.

Number 3 is currently under construction.  We moved into a house with a very sad looking pool house.  I've ripped up the floor and ordered a kickass epoxy finish for it, but I'm going to have to grind the floor first due to the waterproofing membrane.  So unfortunately, I've been without a gym for 3 months now.

You guys who have built the lifting platforms, do you think that you could get away with anchoring a Rogue R-3 rack to that vice the floor?  Obviously you'd have to change a bunch of the supports to get a good anchoring point.  That would really help us when we move, so I don't have to cut off the anchors for a third time.

ETA:  @desertw0lf, it looks like you did that.  How did you anchor your rack?

Elevator bolts through the bottom of the platform. I have a tendency to hit the bar really hard getting tight for squats, and it doesn't move at all.

Great idea!  That may work for me.  I'll probably have to recess them slightly just so I can't scratch the floor.  But if I don't have to drill holes/fill holes, that would be awesome.

Why you no monolift inside the rack?  I love my strap safeties, as it appears you do.
