Had my Testosterone checked, just for fun.
I understand there are two things you can have checked, I got "Total" testosterone score of 225.78
I think the other is usable/available testosterone, right?
According to this ages 22-49 should be between 123 and 813. Seems like I am on the lower end of that @ 225.78.
Good or bad?

Bad.

What time of the day did you go and have you been sleeping well before the test?

Of course my brother got his checked hungover on no sleep. And still got a 900 out of 1000.

It was just after noon when I got blood drawn. I cant remember how sleep was the night before. It was probably an okay nights rest.

I'm no expert on it, but it's a complicated thing. It's not THAT low, so maybe it's not going to be effected. Just think what it would be at 800-1000?

My endocrinologist said to have the blood draw done early in the morning, and before eating. It didn't make a great difference for me, though.

A couple of years ago, I had it done in the afternoon, and had eaten just prior. Total T came back about 225.

Last month, I had it done again, this time before eating breakfast, and Total T was 295. So, not much change.

okay, so seriously, next step, find a supplement and roll with it?
I would imagine if this is my Total, that my usable/available is even lower, right?

The only supplement that works to bring it up a bunch is TRT.

You've done the easy part. (getting bloods)
The hard part is finding a doctor who's not a complete fucktard.

Study, study, study. No one including doctors care about your health so it's up to you to guide your doctor in the direction you want to go. Some will start you with clomid(pill) and it may or may not work. If it works, it's temporary and you will see no real benefit and it will slowly taper off to nothing. Test-cyp(injections) is what you seek. Get yourself into the 800 range and keep estrogen under control. Split the weekly dose your doctor will probably tell you to do into two doses with insulin needle in a fatty part of your body. (belly/ass/thigh)

Keep an eye on liver values, psa, sleep apnea, and lipids. Yes test can cause heart issues ONLY IF YOU HAVE PRE EXISTING CONDITIONS but they will not kill you unless you go unchecked and abuse the drug. Even if you do abuse it to the point of steroid abuse, it won't kill you but will make you a walking hormonal basket case if you don't know what your doing.

Also my theory is this.
Everyone has an experation date. Say you're pre destined to live to be 78 without testosterone but you're living life like a dying slug in slow motion.
You take the testosterone injections and it shaves say 5 years of your life off(it won't but doctors will tell you it will) but instead of living life tired and feeling like life is kicking you in the balls, you're living life fucking the wife like a savage, lifting heavy shit in the gym, and have energy to spare.....

WHICH OPTION DO YOU CHOOSE?

I had a total <200 and had zero issues with libido or ED. Now, my libido did increase to unsafe levels (according to my wife ) after starting T.

My main symptoms were debilitating fatigue in the evenings, night sweats, and insomnia.

Testosterone cypionate. Get a script. And monitor your E and bring down with anastrozole if required.

Good luck finding a doc that understands modern treatment protocols.

Testosterone thickens the blood. I personally donate every 2 months. Not because my blood gets deadly thick but enough that I get pressure in my head.

I would tread very carefully if you choose this route. You're going to have to do some research on your own with this and then try to find a doctor who sees eye to eye and monitors you very closely. At this point with your hear issues, some life is better than no life.

1 this is middle of nowhere ky

2 docs won't deal with me due to previous heart stuff, always want to send me to specialist.
However, I have a relative (who wrote this current bloodwork order) that might write the script for that and keep up with it. They are not in that field of work though really.

To get a good TRT doc you will need to pay cash and go to a private clinic. You will need to search around to find a doctor that is comfortable managing your test levels with your heart condition.

Your about to learn first hand how the war on drugs has trashed legitimate medicine.

150-175mg/week of Testosterone Enanthate split into 2 injections administered sub q with a slin pin.   (Right in the pinch of fat on either side of my abdomen)

Had a few Dr's tell me that my levels were in the "normal" range.   Yeah, "normal" for a 75y/o man. (35 at the time)

I did my homework.   I read and read.  Pubmed journals, Life Extention journals, all sorts of things pertaining to Testosterone.

One of the things that stood out was having LOW Testosterone had scores of negative health impacts.  I might as well feel good and ALIVE and boost it.

As for the thickening of the blood, I've never had any issues with that.   I get BW done every 8weeks.  A friend of mine in a similar situation has to donate blood every few months to deal with that.   It's all very individual.

I hope you find some help bud.  It was the right choice for me.

YES! The whole "normal for who?" thing is exactly what I am thinking. @36 years old I would think it would be alot higher.
Im not in a situation financially to afford TRT right now, just a quick google showed 250-500$ per month add that to the rest of the monitoring etc.
Ive got 3 girls, one just diagnosed with autism and will probably have some special needs going forward, different therapy's and such.
Maybe in the meantime if I can figure out a few "tricks" to scrap together 10 points here and 20 there maybe I can at least get out of this funk, maybe...

I'm sorry to hear about your daughter. Hopefully the diagnosis opens new doors for improvement!

TRT isn't that expensive if it's covered by insurance. 2 months of test runs me $5 or $10, $5/month for anti estrogen, and maybe $15 for 3+months of syringes.

My worry, as has been stated, would be blood thickening for you. Not all people experience it though and it is easy to monitor and take care of. But the juice may not be worth the squeeze for you.

Yeah. I paid $42 once for 10ml of test from Walgreens because the pharmacist decided it would be fraud to bill my insurance for more than a one month supply or some crap and I didn't feel like dealing with small bottles and didn't have the time to care and push the point.

How much progress can I really make at these levels? Should I re-think my training or just continue as normal?

You will still make gains. Just slow.  You will have to put on extra weight and then cut it off.  Then repeat. I did this for years before I finally got T. Now it's a constant strength gain if I eat right. And if I eat a lot it's a huge strength gain.

I am outside and working now though, and for the most part feel great every day, I felt like shit when they drew the blood. I wonder how much it went up (if at all) since it was checked last.

we used to have awesome insurance until obama. Ill have to find out about our current setup.
My sister is a PA, I was going to talk to her (she ordered the bloodwork for T) and see what would be involved in getting it up some.
I dont know if she would be up for that or even if she could, I dont want to get her in trouble or whatever. she lifts with me sometimes but she also thinks its "normal" because that is what the computer spit out more or less.
