I've been up and down this year, wish I could have been in from the start, but I restarted seriously 2 weeks ago and down to 206 from 212. I'm 5'10. Goal is 170. I was 245 2 years ago, got serious and dropped to 225, then my wife's health took a bad turn, now I'm set back to get healthy again.

3 years ago I was around 240, 204.4 this morning, lots of ups and downs. But headed in the right direction

Just a note, if anyone still reads this: phase one ends in a couple weeks. Get ready for photos, measurements, and numbers!

I have been incorporating intermittent fasting for the last week (21 hours is the longest one so far). Eating strictly keto and keeping carbs below 20 grams a day. I am lifting 3 days a week and I am still making strength gains! (squat, bench, press and deadlift).
Down 51 lbs! I weighed 177 this morning. |
|
I am I think 6 weeks into a diet plan and diet coach, most changes in my body I have ever made hands down.
I won't be where I want to be for phase one weigh in and pics cause I started the diet coach too late, but I will post progress. Its fun to make legit progress, as far as for me. |

Well here is my before and current pic. 90% of this progress has come in 6 weeks with a diet coach. I have finally learned for myself it is ALL ABOUT what you eat. Hands down. I have heard everyone say it for years, but it was something I had to exp myself to finally understand how important it is.
Also I have not been starving myself. Been eating 2900-3000 cals a day. 285p 285c 70f I have only been lifting 3 times a week, sometimes 4 with how busy we have been with so much kids stuff, baseball, dance, on and on. No cardio except a few sessions here and there, nothing consistent. Attached File 229 pounds Attached File 226 pounds today |

Pretty sure that you've already bested me in this competition. Turns out, I'm actually up a few pounds. I hope that it is mostly muscle. I'll check in a few days. View Quote |

Looks like I pulled my sternocleidomastoid doing press......will take today off from lifting and hopefully return to it on Monday. Will walk and ride my bike today instead.....I'm bummed because I was making good gains. I started lifting weights a month ago today. Forgot to add that I am down 53 lbs total. 175 this morning.

Placeholder tag. Gotta do better than last year's contest: dead last. You can see my entry here: Last Year Results. I dropped 30 lbs between January and May (as pictured), and then dropped another 35 lbs between May and October. My charts, amusingly, are directly linked to my Google doc, so actually show the full picture even though I didn't update the post. ETA: Weighed in today, 1/8, at 205.2. I'm expecting that once holiday water weight finishes coming off, I'll be closer to 200, at which point I'll start tracking closer. https://www.AR15.Com/media/mediaFiles/332962/20170108130303-122170.JPG https://www.AR15.Com/media/mediaFiles/332962/20170108130516-122173.JPG https://www.AR15.Com/media/mediaFiles/332962/20170108131023-122175.JPG View Quote My official starting weight, per the above post, was 205.2, which included some post-holiday water weight. As of this morning, I weighted 183.6, for a total loss of 21.6 lbs. Here are some photo comparisons: Attached File Attached File Attached File Charts follow. The biggest issue I had here was what was basically a stall going from the beginning of February to the beginning of April. I was stuck at ~192, and it wouldn't budge. This coincides with me being out of the climbing gym with a hand injury, and back in the regular gym lifting free weights. During that time, I lost over an inch off my chest and an inch off my butt, but nothing off of the waist/weight, which is what I cared about. Back in the climbing gym, out of the regular gym as of mid-April, and the weight started falling off again. Along with another inch off of my waist and my butt. I'm now feeling really optimistic about hitting 180 by my birthday in July. Totals: 21.6 lbs, 1.25 inches chest, 2 inches butt, 3 inches waist. If anyone's interested, I've got stats going back to the beginning of last year, too. |

Nice work Zirak major progress! What's the plan now, keep at the same goals? View Quote Hit 190 by beginning of April (missed this slightly, took until mid-April). Hit 180 by mid-July for my birthday. I'm well on track for this, assuming something doesn't go horribly wrong this week. I'm going home for a graduation party, and my Mom is pulling out all the stops. Final goals are some mixture of the following: Look good in a swimsuit (was hoping to start getting there by now, but no....). Abs. Sub-170 weight, based on how I look now (I swear, at some point, I'm going to run out of gut to lose, but it hasn't happened yet). Pissing my younger brother off by being fitter/lighter than him. I'm not as concerned with lifting huge weights (I did get my squat up to 1x body weight last month!), though I do get into a gym when I can. My main form of exercise is rock climbing, which is why my best angles show off my back and arms. |

I'm gonna tag a bunch of people with initial entries or pictures for the competition and make sure they're monitoring the end of phase one. I know some of you have posted recently, so you have my apologies, but it's easier for me to just ping everyone with only one set of pics in the thread so far. Let's see if this works.
@mr2143 @way-out-west2 @peligro113 @Shane333 @57plymouth @pumbaajk @GreenBastard (your initial pic is busted, but I assume it was an entry) @AZNetEng @North_42 @Virginia_Shooter @NavyIS2 @SecurityServant @Coontrapper @fury413rb @HeyCoach @Quiganomics @Former11BRAVO @kallnojoy If I missed anyone, too bad. I tried. |

I will post results Thursday morning....thanks for the reminders! I hope everyone achieved their phase one goals!
