I know that everyone is going to be a little different due to body sizes and favoring some lifts, but is this a good ratio to shoot for? At what point outside that ratio is there a concern?
Robbed from Tnation: Reference Lift: Back Squat Bench Press: 75% of back squat Powerlifting Deadlift: 120% of back squat * Military Press (strict): 45% of back squat https://www.t-nation.com/training/know-your-ratios-destroy-weaknesses |
|
My concern is not getting re-injured. I don't care too much if my lift numbers hit the normal comparative par. As long as I'm making some progress, ratios don't concern me.

I'm in the ballpark.
Deadlifts like 160% but my squat sucks so... Posted Via AR15.Com Mobile |

That's pretty close for me... very close actually.
300 bench 385 back squat 480 deadlift 180 strict press Wow I'm almost exactly there. I haven't tried to max back squats in months. I probably won't. My form isn't perfect and I don't want to injure myself. I think I could probably back squat 400 if I tried. |
|
Meh, guess it works as a general guide, I think it really wouldn't matter for the average person looking to get into shape and increase lean body mass.
|
|
|
If squat is 1.0 and using 5RM not 1RM
Bench 0.85 OHP 0.53 DL 1.17 or if Deadlift is 5 5/4.3/3.7/2.3 My DL sucks |

I bench way more than I squat. But not as much as I deadlift.
Bench 335x3 Squat 285x6 Deadlift 405x2 Ohp? I do dumbbell press. Barbell kills my shoulders and lower back. |
|
Calculated maxes are 235/320/385, so I'm actually really close. I'm surprised how close everyone is in percentages.

Doesn't relate much to my sport(s) of choice, though so I neglect it. Even so, I doubt I'd ever break 300 on the bench, while I fully expect to squat 5 plates someday. You don't need bumper plates for squats or deads.
It is handy when doing deads heavy so you can drop the weight but it is not essential. Bumper Plates come in handy for heavy Snatches, Cleans and overhead work. You shouldn't be dropping squats but re-racking. |
