I thought Bench Press was forbidden by CFHQ...just behind Curls in the "Unfunctional, Stupid Meathead" exercise list.

CFHQ has nothing to do with most programming.  There is a Crossfit II Total we did a couple months back that added up your 1RM at bench press, OH squat and clean.  It was a pretty tough morning.

I wish they would Pyramid to your SRM instead of doing 3x5.

IMO, you get stronger doing Pyramids.

We weren't doing 3x5.  We were doing a lot 3x10 and 1x10 emom type stuff.  And a lot of complexes, like bear complex, snatch/hang snatch complexes, clean, clean jerk complexes, clean/front squat/jerk complexes, etc.  With the emphasis being barbell conditioning and volume more than raw strength for a 1RM.

I'm following.

Today was my first day back in the gym in almost 2 months. Work and new kid has me worn out.

Did a fram-ish type workout.

BP - 135x25, 135x12x3
Thrusters - 45x12x4 (I'm working on form before I blow up on the weight.
WGPU-10,6,6,5

I pushed it but I worked more on form than anything. I lost alot in the past two months.

Any critiques?

Sorry, no Crossfit today.  Went to the gym to lift instead.  Crossfit tomorrow.

You need to take up a paleo diet so you can talk about that on the days you aren't crossfitting.

Most, if not all the people I CrossFit with at my box do NOT do Paleo, Zone, or any of that crazy stuff.

I'm 246# so I expend more energy than the hamsters.  And it kills my gains.

Growing up, playing sports.  Running was always a punishment.

I remember once a coach saying if anyone missed an assignment we would "run until he pukes".  He lied, but he wasn't far off.

Exactly.  Even in D1 football, I don't recall anyone "wanting" to run.  Sprints, yes.  Laps around the field or ladders?  No effin way.  Playing football itself was more than enough cardio to ensure you got no gains.  Running long distances was just to fuck with you.  I was specifically made to run until I puked for being late one time to 5:30 a.m. workouts.  I was watched to ensure I didn't stick my finger down my throat.

Doesn't look bad except the chest to bar. 20 of those are hard.  The running would feel like a rest.

20 strict legit pullups are worse than 20 C2B, IMO.

You can gain mass in CF, but you have to eat an outrageous amount of food.

35:01 because I went over on the last 400M and that counts as a 1 second ding.  I was supposed to finish under 35:00

I ain't worried about my times at this point, I am worried about finishing.

Fuck running, I did my share as an athlete and I'll find easier ways to get my cardio in. Knees can't do it anymore.

I have been working on correct form pull-ups for years before I started this.  At least I didn't embarrass myself by starting and not able to do a single one.

I hope to get to where I can do 20 without having to stop.  I think I got 13 last night before I had to release and start doing threes and twos to finish.  That was after being smoked.  Fresh, I am sure I could have gotten a few more.

I just did 30 this morning, and I'm going to start doing 30 every morning as part of my warmup.  I've found that they smoke my abs when you really are doing them strict.  I can only do 11 UB right now.  All these CF workouts are designed for kipping, or really butterflying.  So if you are going to really do CF, you probably want to start learning how to do this.  Because you will struggle doing strict.  For reference, after I completely smoke myself doing 50 or so strict pullups, to the point where I can't do anymore, I can hop onto a bar and knock out 10 UB butterfly PUs.  Two different things totally as far as energy use, and muscle development, goes.

I ripped my shin open doing box jumps this week.  That was awesome.  This was to be my last month doing Crossfit as well.  I'm going to oly and power lifting only.  I've come to the realization that I have a few mobility issues that need to be worked out and I have a muscle imbalance that needs to be fixed.  Crossfit just won't do that for me.  Luckily I found a gym close by that has bars, bumpers, and space for a quarter the cost.
