I'm almost 38, about 5' 10" and 165 - 170lbs.
Been working indoors and night shift for 8 years now, and I have become one lazy and depressed person.
Anyway, I've thought of getting in shape to try and help my self esteem, sleep, etc.
Trying to get the motivation to do something, before I get too old.

Oh, jeez... You have a long way to go before you get "too old."
I'm 69, about 6' 0" and 155 lbs.
I have a neurological disorder that has caused extreme muscle weakness, a type of arthritis that has deformed my spine, and an intestinal disorder that last year nearly killed me.
Prior to this year, I was constantly very depressed.
Since getting out of the hospital in late December, I've been doing workouts -- admittedly rather puny workouts compared to what the rest of the guys here do -- six days per week.
I still occasionally get discouraged, but the vast majority of the time my frame of mind has been very good to excellent. I attribute that change solely to the regular exercise program.
Get off your lazy, almost 38-year-old butt and just do it.

P.S. I'm lazy, too. Always have been. Exercise hasn't changed that. One thing that helps motivate me is listening to emotionally stimulating music before and during a workout. Example:
