I'm not sure about that.  I've done a couple of them and they were beastly workouts.  I remember one with hang power cleans at 185# mixed in with shuttle runs.  I was sore for a couple of days from that one.  The same guy who programs CF FB is the guy who programs the current program I"m doing.

I'll probably up the conditioning just slightly and clean up my diet a little.  The strength gains have been worth it, but I probably should slow down some at this point.  I wasn't that disappointed looking at other people's times online.  My wife is 115#.  I was always slow at burpees, much less burpee pullups.  She can roll through a 100 burpees at a time.

Nice.

I've got about ten days left on both my squatting restrictions (cortisone shot) and the 10K kettlebell challenge.  When that's up I'll start doing the crossfit football WODs.

They don't do burpees in Crossfit Football, do they?

Yeah, I intend to scale like a boss.

I don't know if you have looked at that kettlebell thread but in 2 1/2 weeks I've shaved 20 minutes off my 500 swings and 100 lifts, and when I started I was barely able to run a mile afterwards.  Yesterday I finished the swings/lifts in 37.5 minutes and then ran an 8 minute mile after.  The barbell conditioning from CF-F looks really appealing, and hard.

Need to get back to working towards that 200lb snatch too.

Had an ugly one for me today. Started off with 5x5 back squat at 85%.

Metcon was :
1000m Row, then 4 rounds of-
20 kettlebell swings at 70#
60 DUs
then 1000m Row to finish.

Took me just over 21 minutes

Did my first ever crossfit class/WOD with my wife today.  I'm 250 swings behind for the week on the 10,000 kettlebell swing challenge, so I started with those 250 swings then did my remaining 500 swings after the WOD.

WOD was-

5 rounds of tabata air squats, pausing at parallel on every other set.  Take the lowest count for the 20 second sets as your final score, I got 16.

Then the second part was
5 rounds of-
1 min dead lift 185lbs
1 min hand release push up
1 min knees to elbow.

My final score was 182, rocked the deadlifts and did just fine on push up, but I had never tried the k2e before and the timing kicked my ass.  Some were super easy, the rest it was obvious I wasn't getting it right.

150 slam balls for time 50#

10:01

Beat my time from 10/29/15 by exactly one minute.  And I thought my conditioning had likely suffered since then.  Maybe the additional strength I've gained required less conditioning.

It's been awhile since I posted but in January I started 3 month body composition at the box I go to. So far I'm down 10 pounds and a lot of the exercises are a lot easier. I finally can do a few kipping hspu in a row and today we did a hero wod, Sisson which required rope climbs. I managed 10 which before I could barely manage one. It was a good day.

AMRAP15:

5 Power Cleans (135)

10 Box jumps (24")

15 Wallballs (20#)

THEN

6 minutes to find a max thruster.

Did 7 full rounds, then got 225 on my thruster...then boarded the failboat for shittown.

We did the following "chipper" this morning.  1 minute of work and one minute of rest until done.

75 chest to bar pull-ups
100 Push press (95 lb.)
125 Goblet squats (24 kilo kettle bell)

It took me 19 rounds (38 minutes--just under the 40 minute cap)

Did this after my 2 hour damn workout, which included pulling 475 x 3.  A PR I think for conventional deads.  I thought about going for 500x3, but this is my second DL session this week, so I didn't.

8 rounds:

10 pushups
20 situps
30 alternating BW lunges

Did the local Crossfit WOD today as it meshed with my workout goals really well.

1,000M row followed by two rounds of

30 power snatches 80/55 (I did 75lb drop snatches instead)
1mi run

I don't do nearly enough conditioning work, this took me nearly 38 minutes.  4:15 row, 10:45 mile and 11:00 mile.

Since I'm back to training at the local box:

A.  Hang Squat Snatch, heavy single
As I'm still a novice at oly-lifting, I did many singles @ 95#.   The first couple are always super ugly, but they got better as I went along

B.  5/6th of Isabel -  25 Snatches
    5:45 scaled @ 85#

C.  500m max effort row
     1:35

Another barbell based WOD with my wife this morning.

two rounds with a 10 minute recovery between them-

400m run
15 KB swings 75/55
12 thrusters 75/55
9 deadlifts 185/125
12 thrusters 75/55
15 KB swings75/55
400m run

I did the first in 8:26 and thought I was going to die on the second run, then really did die right before the second run on the second round.  Ended that one in 9:11

Faster than the 250lb older woman.  Barely.

Yep.  Best program out there.  Especially now that I'm seeing the open wods.  55 HSPUs today.  Comptrain used to have you do 50 or 60 at a time in quick sets of 10 or 5.  It's like they let him in on the open wods way ahead of time.

03/31

A: Close Grip Bench, 1 rep max with 3 second negative -  255# x1

B: Close Grip Bench, 1 max set with 80% of A -  205# x 6

That was it.

04/01

B: 1:30 AMRAP with choice of muscle ups, pull ups, or bench dips -  30 bench dips

This was a de-load week, so I'm pretty sure the volume will be set to "oh-wow" next week.

Bro session with some barbell rows, GHRs, hammer curls, GHD situps, and overhead kb carries.

Warmup- 10 minute EMOM
Odd minutes -  45 seconds plank hold
Even minutes -  45 seconds superman hold

A: Front rack reverse lunges - every 2 minutes for 20 minutes, perform 1 set of 6 total reps
Worked up to 125 for 2 sets of 6

B:  10 minute AMRAP
8 overhead lunges  ( I used 65#)
6 wall balls
4 HSPU  (I did regular pushups)

4 rounds + 4 lunges

Getting out of my car after the drive home was not fun.

04/06

A: Muscle Clean, sets of 6 every 2 minutes for 6 minutes
Worked up to a set of 145

B: Hang Power Clean, sets of 4 every 2 minutes for 8 minutes
Stuck with 145 for all but 1 set.  Got 165 x 3 on last set

C: 1 complex of Hang Power Clean, Hang Squat Clean, and Front Squat every 2 minutes for 8 minutes
135 for all

D:  30 push presses for time, I used 135
3:31, I think

E: 21-15-9 of
RKB swings @ 60
Thrusters @ 95
I don't remember my score, because as soon as I was done coach was yelling to clean everything up for the next session.

04/07

1 week after doing Murph, lats are finally recovered from 260# swinging around in the air.

Today:

20 min AMRAP.  Murph inspired.

0-2 mins:  200 m run then pullups for remaining time
2-4 mins:  200 m run then pushups
4-6 mins:  200 m run then air squats
6-8 mins:  200 m run then sit ups
8-10 mins:  200 m run then rest (I missed that part and did pullups again)
10-12 mins: 200 m run then pullups
12-14 mins: 200 m run then pushups
14-16 mins: 200 m run then air squats
16-18 mins: 200 m run then situps
18-20 mins: 200 m run then rest

That sucked.  I only got 78 reps because I mostly just doing the fat guy shuffle the entire time.  I'd come in with 10 seconds left, do 5 reps, then head back out on the run.  I fucking hate running.

It was my first time wearing a weight vest.  So I paced myself pretty conservatively.  By the end I realized I could have pushed it harder.  The FW indeed sucked.  My training partner went unbroken on it.  I dropped it halfway after the little devil on my shoulder told me there's no fucking way I'm going to make it.

Dropped in at a local crossfit gym in Texas while on the road.

I warmed up with a quick 4 minute 1000m row

1rep max squat worked up to 405. New PR

Metcon
Partner workout with complete stranger. Good dude though. Big guy like me.

60-40-20

55lb kettle bell swing
Burpees
55lb goblet squats
Pull ups. We scaled with jumping pull up cuz we are fatties.

We cleared the metcon in 30 minutes.

80 ft farmer's carry 175# per hand.  Two tire flips 800# tire.  Did it as an emom, changing the exercise w/ each minute.  I don't know how many minutes we kept it up for, but it wrecked me for a couple of days.

This was pretty bullshit:
Minute 1: 6 Front Squats @185

Minute 2: 15 Cal Row

Minute 3: 12 burpees

Repeat for 21 minutes.

That is total b.s.
