Well a year ago I went from 315lbs body weight down to 204lbs. I looked and felt great, but I was weak! Life got in the way for a while and I just got back to the gym in April. Going a different direction this time around and just trying to get strong.

Current numbers are:

6'3 230lbs all lifts are completely raw

305lbs Bench
405 Squat
435 Deadlift

My numbers are going up every month, in April I could barely bench 225lbs once. Being 6'3 with long arms and legs is a pain in the ass, but I'm making progress and that's all that matters.

Currently, I'm doing 5x5 on bench and squat, and 1x5 on deadlift, with my last successful full reps for all sets at 160 on bench, 340 on deadlift, and 440 on squat.  Before I torqued the shit out of my wrist and deloaded while it gets better, I was at 200 for bench, and 385 for deadlift.  I did not deload my squat.  I haven't tried to perform a 1RM on any of them at this time.

Haven't maxed in a year and I weighed 30 pounds more, if I had to guess it would be 300/350/400.  Sketchy on that 400 though since I did injure my lower back in a non lifting accident and just recently back to doing deads.

Haven't tested my dead in a while. Not something I do very often, I'm a little scurred of it. Also I never bench ever so w/e.

1569.  Probably sitting around 1300-400 now.  Just picked up lifting 3 weeks ago after a 6 month hiatus.

I am 57
I weigh 165
I am 69" tall

Ten pounds heavier than when I was 18.

Weight lifting?  I live and work on a farm and have no time for that.

Farm work is enough of a workout.

Making it look easy!

44, 5'8", 200#

B 225#
S 235#
D 315#

8:01 mile

Rebuilt my squat form over the last couple months and have been dealing with some shoulder impingement issues. Solving those problems should allow me to increase my maxs over the next 6 months while continuing to improve my running times.

I always thought that if the Big 3 totaled 1000# and I could run a 7 mm I would be satisfied. We shall see.

That's a pretty good deadlift number though.  I was working out with a guy who was 6'10 and his deadlift was insane.   He was just lifting it like a crane.  I'm tall as well and have similar bench and squat numbers as you, but my DL is lacking.  Is there some kind of tall guy trick I'm missing?

I guess I get to start higher with longer arms.

It might be a good workout, but some of us train to get stronger, not just workout. Unless your farm work progressively overloads your muscles, you will not build much strength. It's kind of like aerobics.

I have a couple bulging discs, so I generally avoid squats unless i'm feeling really good.

That said:

Bench: 235(up from 185 in May)
Leg Press: 495
Deadlift: never done one :(
