Got in 1:30 of saddle time.  Had a glitch with my sensors, so can only guess at how far I went.

I can tell it's been several months since I went for a ride, though.  Knee and butt pain.

Got about seven miles in today; had a blast. Anybody around Fayetnam looking for a new trail, I highly recommend Browns Creek in Elizabethtown.

Also, y'all check your clips and cleats; lost a screw in one and had the cleat spin sideways on my shoe, and had to rip it out of the pedal. Would've been a giant PITA had I been in the middle of the ride.

Got to get it back.

That, and I knew that seat was worn out.  Need to get a new one.  Will probably hit the LBS tomorrow.

I rode yesterday and today...yesterday being my first ride since Jan 2.

My right knee is bothering me now, so don't feel alone

Been there. Trying out a trail that was more technical than what I was used to(and more than my skill level to be honest), and actually ate it twice because I couldn't get unclipped. The first time it happened so quick I thought it was just me, but the second time I could feel the shoe twisting to unclip but the cleat didn't move. Had to stop trailside and make the repair.

Rent was due and I decided to have a nice ride on a 49 degree day. Had lots of fun, a few sketchy areas where there was still ice on the trails.

My sit bones hurt too.

It was in Pisgah National Forest, we took the Old Toll Rd and some other connector trail to the top and bombed back down HeartBreak Ridge. I was just never big on technical riding/climbing because im awkward as hell and not great at it lol. Id rather have a relatively smooth trail I can push myself on, and enjoy without having to focus so hard mentally on where im headed.

I need to get out there.  It's hard to co-ordinate schedules with folks as my weekends are normally filled with family duties and I sneak away to ride during the day.

Well....that sucked.

After 43 miles last Saturday I barely eeked out 15 this morning. I mean barely.

My legs were dead as shit and just couldn't get any sort of power going.

I guess after 43 miles on Sat, 9 hour carbine/pistol class on Sunday, traveling for work, 2x treadmill sessions I was tired or something.

Not motivating at all.

46.3miles but average speed suffered. Only held 14.2mph/avg.

Over nice ride but destroyed by wind on one 8 mile stretch (which is conveniently a constant gradual uphill segment). Wind was channeled directly down road into my face by tall pines on either side of the road. Like a giant f'ing wind tunne. :/

I was holding 15mph/avg prior to that stretch. Turned into the wind and blamo. I was going backwards......after that I was down to 14 and never really recovered. All in all, however, it was a nice ride and my longest yet.

I bought a Garmin Edge 520. Cool gizmo and the sensors work great on it. No more futzing with magnets and crazy setups. Lots of data on the ride (which I like) and easy syncing with Strava.

Headwinds are just flat hills  I like hills!

A 520 and a power meter are on my list.  But I really need a new set of wheels first.  I don't think the set I'm on has much more life in them.  Hopefully I'll lose weight faster than I break spokes

Signed up for the Camp Shelby Gravel Grind in a couple weeks.

My first ever organized bike ride. 25 mile loop on "gravel" which is more like highly compacted dirt paths through Camp Shelby military base and De Soto National Forrest.

I could have done the 50 mile loop but decided to play it safe.

Gonna either ride my Giant Escape 2 or possibly borrow a Felt V100 Cross.

Totally pumped for it.

Quick 14.6mile ride. It was cold at 32F but once I got going I was toasty warm.

Haven't been feeling the power in my legs the past few rides. Only held 14.7mph/avg and more importantly could feel it on the hills.

I need to (1) be more diligent about situps, pushups, air-squats and toe-arch lifts. The more of those I do the faster I seem to be on the bike (2) look at diet and (3) consider getting refitted to bike to make sure there are no adjustments needed.

It was a good ride, don't get me wrong just noticing the seeming lack of power. Ultimately I was in the saddle and that was good.

Some pictures from the 24 Hours in the Old Pueblo race last weekend.  This was my first attempt riding it solo but my third time racing.  I had a goal of making it 6 laps.  I only had 4 in me.  Still had a great time and will be looking forward to getting in better shape for next year.

I think the most I have ever ridden in a day has been 70 miles.  Granted, that was on an mtb, but 260 miles is

Lean forward enough to compress front fork or wheel, then shift weight towards rear and pull up on bar.  Ideally the crank on the strong leg should be at the 9 o'clock position.  As the fork tops out force the foot down.  Imagine trying to pull the handlebar up with your legs.  The only real trick is timing.

Did a quick 20 miles on the Giant Hybrid.

Then this happened.

Picked it up yesterday but due to my and the bike shop's schedule couldn't get fitted to it (other than adjusting saddle height). Also am going to clipins for the first time. So I'm going to ride it a very small amount with flats and then get fitted/clip in pedals in a couple weeks. 2015 Scott Solace 30.

Need to put a low-profile white light on the front and my Garmin mount. Other than that trying to resist the urge to add a bazillion accessories to it.

I worked with the owners of this website and Primal Wear to design it and did a group buy a couple of years ago.  There's probably 50 or so of them out in the wild.

It's worse than BRD.  You better avoid even taking a test ride at a shop because what you can "afford" simply becomes a matter of reprioritizing things like food, shelter, family, etc.

I have been avoiding riding a real road bike because I can't afford one.

It's worse than BRD.  You better avoid even taking a test ride at a shop because what you can "afford" simply becomes a matter of reprioritizing things like food, shelter, family, etc.

Road bikes make BRD seem like a bargain.  I'm shopping for a new set of wheels ATM.

That's the way I'd have to do it.

Of course, since I normally ride an mtb, I am now looking hard at the new SRAM NX 1x11 groupo.

$310 retail including the crank!
