i'm gonna do some pushups in a few before going to bed. my end goal, not by november of course, but hopefully by my birthday in march, is to do a pullup. i've never been able to one before. went to the gym this past tuesday for a free personal training session to try out the gym, and i did WAY more than i should have. used some straps hanging from the ceiling to do "squat & rows", then "T-presses". Then he had me grab 20lb dumbells and do clean & jerks. Then grabbed a kettlebell to do some squat swings. well after about 30 mins i got hypoglycemic and had to stop, my quads still hurt a bit, but today i was able to use the stairs normally. monday night i'm gonna go back to the gym (got a two week pass that started tuesday), and do a bit more, but i'll be sure to eat more carbs before going!

Ran/walked again today. Was able to run 10 minutes none stop, which is probably only the 2nd time I've done that in over a year, and maybe over two. Was about 15 degrees cooler than yesterday since I ran right after a storm rolled through but the humidity was through the roof. Been fighting a cold the last week or so and that doesn't help.

Feeling good and I can tell the difference in being back on Paleo.

Yesterday was my longer cardio day. Doing the bridge to 10K-10 min. jog, 1 min. walk X4 with a 5 minute walk for cool down.

This morning I went through my work out and my left tricep feels sore and 'weak', left deltoid is a little sore. Me thinks muscle pull.

I figure this is going to put a damper on pull ups/chin up. Any insight on if push ups will be an issue?

Tomorrow is my off day. Back at it Wednesday.

Right now my work out is....
M, W, F-Body weight work out (squats, push ups, lunges, pull ups/chin ups, ect with 10 min of cardio after)

Su-Long run day as noted above.

Any thoughts on adding another long run day for more cardio? The only thing holding me back is concern over shin splints or other overuse injuries.

I'm still holding at 235, I'm going about this contest by doing farm work, watching my diet, and when i get paid, i'm going to be buying a kinect for my xbox, Will also be picking up the "Your shape: evolved" which i see gets very good reviews. Other than that i'm not going about it as hardcore as some people here are, but I'm using it to motivate me to try to get as close to 200lbs as possible.

Might throw in a sprint day. That's my plan. 2-3 run days depending on how I feel plus a sprint day and P90X

if it was me i'd turn that 10 minutes of cardio into 20 or 30 after your bodyweight stuff. if that makes your workouts too long then maybe throw a longish cardio day in there somewhere

P90X chest/back yesterday.

Today I ran again and was able to do 10 minutes not stop but didn't cover the same distance as Sunday. The sore legs and 97* heat prevented that. I have a 1.3 mile loop in the neighborhood that I run/walk and I wasn't able to run much on the second lap. The heat drained me.

Today was as many rounds as possible in 7 minutes of:
10 box jumps (24")
10 push press (95lbs)
10 push ups (Chest must touch the ground)
When I read that WOD this morning I was totally like "6-7 rounds should be about right". Nope. I got to the gym and looked on the board, the best was 5 rnds + 10 box jumps + 5 push press. I thought the box jumps would be the killer, once again, Nope. Push ups were the most difficult. Push press was easy. Got 4 rounds +24 reps. Had the first round done in 45 seconds...sneaky workout!

yea its pretty rough. you probably went hypoglycemic. try to eat a decent amount of carbs (40-50g) about an hour or two before your workout.

It was more of "That water you were drinking during your workout wants out" kinda feeling.

that makes sense. NEVER chug water while working out. when i was in school coaches said to wash out your mouth first, take the first mouthful swish it around then spit it out, then sip.

Also, can someone tell me why i sweat more playing kinect for 15 minutes than i do riding my bike for 30 minutes? I dont understand it, i have sweat running down my forehead into my eyes from playing kinect, but when i ride my bike i just get lightly sweaty.

air flow over your body means the sweat will evaporate like it's supposed to, cooling you off. standing in front of your tv there's probably not alot of wind; same concept with treadmills. try a box fan

I keep a box fan on when we play kinect and it doesn't help. I'm always drenched in sweat when I get done.
