THE IMAGE ABOVE IS A PAID ADVERTISEMENT Paris-Nice was boring for the most part, but Leipheimer et al's final crash during the chase was spectacularly disastrous. I was pulling for him because I can't stand Wiggins or Team SKY (don't know why). Anyhow, kudos to Wiggins for winning the final TT. That's an impressive show of strength IMO to wear the leaders jersey into a stage and proceed to dominate it. Tirreno-Adriatico: also mostly boring. It was a like a more scenic Tour of Oman. The final TT was pretty cool, but you could tell before Horner passed 150m to the finish that Nibali had won. Good on him, though. He had a great 2-stage run in the USA Pro Cycling challenge last year so I wondered when we might be seeing him more. Milan-San Remo: Aside from the brutal crash of the Columbia deportes rider, I enjoyed the hell out of all 7 hours of racing. Cavendish fucked up my picks again, though. He was practically rolling backwards on the big Col that started a little after 100km to go and never managed to gain back any time. He seemed strong in Qatar, so it was either a bad day or (more likely) a route that doesn't suit him. He's a one-trick pony where no one can beat him in a sprint, but everyone can beat him on a 5% grade. I almost picked Simon Gerrans for the win (picked Robbie McKewen instead) because GreenEdge is kicking ass and taking names this season. Currently, Catalunya is in progress through Sunday (Gent-Wevelgem is on Sunday too). I'm not sure who I'm favoring for either at this moment. |

Very bummed that MSR was only available on Universal Sports. Not an option with my cable provider
LMAO at BMC so far this season. Waiting anxiously for Roubaix. |

During MSR, Gilbert actually came forward at one point and yelled at two teammates for doing the lion's share of the work, meanwhile SKY, OPQ and everybody else were just sitting back. |

Without sreaching I'm just gonna ask.
Is Lance riding at all? Contrador? Did Tyler Hamilton come back yet? Hincapie still whiny? |

Hincapie still whiny? He's kept quiet. I think everyone's given up on his winning a classic (don't know why he was really ever favored). |

I think Hincapie had the ability but would have had everything go perfect. Then he would have had to over come his mental block of winning.
I think with helping LA for so long and transforming his abilities and role he just wouldn't allow himself to win. Had he concentrated on Classics and sprinting he could have done well for himself. Instead all he ever did was lose and complain about why... It's always been a shame to watch the greats get hit with bans from doping. |

Catalunya stage 2: GreenEDGE is on fire. Albasini leads with both stage wins.

Well, Boonen won E3 and G-W. No big surprise there, and he got me 100 points in the prediction competition on another forum. Sebastian Langeveld and Greg Van Avermaet both let me down though... I had picked them as well, they stayed at the front for the last 20k and then disappeared in the sprint. Sigh... it was fun to watch in Dutch, though. Eurosport was still covering Catalunya on Sunday, so I watched the race on Sporza. It sounds like this: "Bork bork bork, Cancellara, Cancellara, bork, Friere, Boonen, Friere, BOOONENNN!".
Bunch of babies dropping out of Catalunya, btw. A little snow and half the field decides not to restart after the stage is neutralized. Albasini from GreenEDGE was leading by less than a minute leading into stage 3. After all the DNFs and withdrawals, his lead never dropped below 1:30 and he got to spend the rest of the race in the peloton without breaking much of a sweat. GreenEDGE continues to dominate. The grand tours are going to be very interesting. |

Flanders starts early Sunday morning for those in the Central Time Zone. Should be good.

I hope Eurosport covers it in English this time since they didn't cover G-W (which may have been due to the final Catalunya stage).... I prefer Dave Harmon to Bob Roll any day. ETA: and just to get it out there before the races starts... my picks for Flanders are Cancellara, Boonen, and Freire. My picks for tour of the Basque Country are Kloden, Horner, and Cobo. |

The great Paris - Roubaix is only a few days away.
I predict 1) Boonen 2) Gerrans 3) Flecha. I've lost faith in Hushovd as a classics man and I'm feeling pretty safe picking a GreenEDGE rider for nearly every race on the calendar. |

I joined cyclingtorrents a couple weeks ago, but haven't really gotten involved in the message board. How soon after a race happens is the torrent usually available?

Boonen is falling out of form. I'm picking Pozzato for Roubaix.
