Impressive.  Scaled for men that would be like using 225.
Yeah. I think "Heavy Grace" is 185/135, so this should fall to 225/155.

The "grace-ish" I did the other day took me 7 minutes, I don't think I could do a "Ultra Grace" in under 12.

If you were looking for "bro workouts of the week" though... 30 225 C&J's for time would be interesting...

That would be pretty beast.  But it might narrow our participants some.  Maybe 185.  Or double grace.  Though I said I wasn't doing that shit again.  Or Isabelle.

Maybe just a total pounds C&J in 15 minutes?

That's an interesting one.  Maybe go down to 95# and do 150 or more?    Or, 15 min amrap.  135# C&Js.  Then some other exercise EMOM at the top of every minute.  Score is total C&Js.  The other exercise could be

burpees
pushups
pullups
toes to bar
box jumps
KB swings
dips
curls?

That looks like my workout for the day. My back is bothering me. I'll try to get the 5x5 at 135 just so I can lift deads before the pain sets in. Then it's just accessories for me. Not feeling well enough to keep up with the program. Still looking at shoes.

Did some power yoga today. Held crow for three good long breaths before coming down in a controlled manner.

Really something I need to incorporate into my routine on the regular.

Elephant trunk pose? Side crow? Do you practice handstands? Never got those, but still try on the mats at bjj practice.

Doubt I'll ever get the hip mobility to do elephant trunk but a side crow would be doable.

I free handstand from tripod is something I've held for a few seconds, but I just don't have the core control or the upper body strength to maintain it. Things to work on, and losing some weight would help. If I can hang on to a bodyweight snatch and a 2x body weight squat, I wouldn't mind increasing some core and balance, but we'll see what happens. Strength trumps everything, just trying to find new ways to lay a better foundation for strength. I pack muscle on fairly easily.

I do think there's a ton of shit in yoga that translates directly into strength sports. Core control, breathing control, body awareness...whenever I get on a yoga kick all my oly lifts seem to require less effort (although I still fail at the same weights).

Even some of the foofoo shit actually ends up being good cues, once you pay attention to where your mind is at and how it relates to what your body is doing.

"Release the toxins in your body through your outstretched toes" bullshit still bothers me though. Takes me right out of the zone.

I used to see good improvement in my shooting when I did a lot of yoga, back in the days I used to shoot.  The improvement to stability was really nice.  Now I just do lizard and pigeon to keep the ass and hips moving right.  I'd think it's good for proprioception, which is why you'd see an improvement to lifts.  I guess I should try it, my Olympic lifts are a disaster.

Woohoo, back to squats finally.  Today was my first moderately heavy back squats in 5 weeks, worked up to 345 and the knee felt great, aches just a little now but not enough to worry about.

I also worked o snatches a little more, I still have trouble getting into the squat position, I'm just doing power snatches.  I've got to figure out how to catch that bar at the bottom of a squat.  My overhead squats are better than they were, more comfortable anyway, I just can't drop into the squat when I'm catching.  Maybe some snatch balances will help.

Deadlifts this morning and then Burn Co. for early lunch today!  I have found this to be my new motivation to hit it hard on deadlift day which I have traditionally dreaded.

I eat plenty!

Forgot to video. But I worked up to 185 on squats and stayed there for 5x5. Pulled 225 for a few sets. Almost dropped a 95 lbs press rep on my head. Then I bro curled for the rest of the night.

So Monday I immediately got a headache after 315x20 back squat.  Then today I was going to go for 345x20 deads.  On rep 10, I got an immediate headache and had to put the bar down.  Didn't go away for about 45 minutes.  WTF.  Did I sprain my brain or something?

Valsalva maneuver?  I actually had brain juice leak out of my nose once doing that, scared the shit out of me.  Doc said no big deal, don't do it again.

Maybe you're just getting sick, I was only able to squat 345 for a single and the same for deadlift this week because it felt like the top of my head was going to come off.

I popped a blood vessel in one of my eyes last week pulling a triple... I probably should have breathed more. Lifting is hard work.

Do you look up, or keep a neutral head position?  Do you have pain/discomfort between your shoulder blades?  Any numbness or tingling in fingers, particularly your pinky and ring fingers?  Any history of spinal issues?

When I had cervical disc issues, I would get massive headaches when lifting. I believe the fluid wasn't draining well and causing headaches from too much pressure...but I'm not a doc. Haven't had issues since I fixed my disc issues. And my posture/head position.

I've had SI joint issues on my right side.  Kind of a sciatica type thing.  That's pretty much gone away.  I think my head position was okay.  It was pretty neutral.  I think it was probably related to my breathing.  Lifting heavy, no problem.  It has only happened with unusually high reps of weight heavy enough that I have to use a belt and control my breathing.

I guess muscles contracting isnt a function

Technicalities aside. You are pulling the weight away from the floor. You may be pushing some joints but the weight is being pulled
