This article makes a good argument against the whole "1g protein per 1lb BW" bro science.

TL;DR- even .82g per 1lb of BW is more than enough

But why does it matter?

Now if you're trying to justify more fat in a diet than okay, because fats are typically 9cal per gram that can throw things off quite a bit.  But protein and carbs are both 4cal per gram (generally).  So if you're trying to maintain a caloric limit, why not just err to more protein, or about 1g per pound then set your carb intake to activity levels and the rest can be fats?

This. Plus, if you look at the studies he cites, two studies were for 2 weeks, one was for 7 days(wtf), one for 4 weeks and finally one for 3 months. On the 3 months study they compared people eating 0.71 g/lb to people eating more the 0.91g/lb. Seems like a pretty tight margin, and still for a very short period of time if the subjects were advanced.

The studies weren't ran for nearly long enough to prove anything. Seems like a case of "what do you want the numbers to prove?" statistics.

Then if you look at the article/study I posted yesterday in this thread it showed creating a surplus by eating a lot of protein without even working out will increase lean body mass. More protein seems to always win. Unless you don't want it to, then we can make studies to show that too.

Best rule of thumb is 1 g per lb of the weight you want to be. Especially if you are in a deficit. You don't eat your protein your body will eat your muscle.

But if you can't see veins everywhere and abs, you're not 10% BF. So couldn't a 200 lbs guy shave off 20g and just try to hit 180g a day?

For the past 2 years I bet I haven't been getting 100g of protein a day. I've made some decent gains but I barely look like I lift. Guess it's time to get serious.

I'm sure you've heard it, but when someone says it's 80% diet, I think they're just about right.

Was supposed to pull 395# for 1 rep today. Decided to do 425#s instead. Came up pretty easy.  Bumped it up to 440#; got it off the ground and gave up.  I would have had it for sure if I wouldn't have done the 425. Would had been a PR.

I'm going to get that next cycle.

Thanks. But I knew I would get that; I really wanted the 440.

No next week will be a 5 rep week and I will probably take it to 7. I won't have enough left to PR.

My wife got me the newish Titan fitness weight tree for Father's Day. It's pretty nice, especially for $80. 45's fit at all positions which is great because that's mostly what I have so a lot of the other style trees wouldn't work for me. It went together in less than 10 min. The plastic ends are pretty shitty, but I don't really care about that. And the way the tubes are held in is interesting, basically a rubber stopper on each side to hold it as centered as you can make it. I like it. I'd post a pic but I'm on my phone. So here's a link.

Link.

That's my style.  Squat or don't bother.  How's the wrist?  I've been on BPC-157 for two days now.  Injecting right at the wrist about .04ml (yeah, that's tiny) of the stuff right under the skin twice a day.  Wife has been doing it for a week on her badly sprained ankle, feeling somewhat better but she's dumb and can't keep from overusing it when it feels good.

The high protein group gained twice as much weight as the low protein group, but of that weight they gained slightly less fat. So they added a bunch of LBM in the process.

It would be cool to see a similar study done but making the carbs a lower percentage of the calories to see how that affects how the weight is gained.

Orange juice?

Recommend a chainsaw...you've got 12 hours.

Leaning towards a Husqvarna.14 inch or 16 inch.

Had a some branches, including trunk parts, come down today in a storm and I need to get them chopped and to the dump fast.  House closes in 4 days and I basically have tomorrow to do it.  Plus I want a chainsaw because who doesn't want a chainsaw.

I have 4 or 5 Huskys. A few Echos.

Get the larger bar. Then the bigger cc. Then the biggest bar in that cc model. Then get more displacement and the biggest bar in that motor size.

I have a Solo and a Stihl.  Both are good, the Stihl is actually REALLY good.

I've yet to break a Husqvarna and I break everything.

I have 4 or 5 Huskys. A few Echos.

Get the larger bar. Then the bigger cc. Then the biggest bar in that cc model. Then get more displacement and the biggest bar in that motor size.

I've broken a few echo things.

I've never found something I couldn't break. That's why I went into demolition.

I was hoping to do a little more than that today but even squats was hurting my wrist.  Did 3x8 @ 315, and that's it.  Short day in the gym, wasn't really feeling it and 2/3rds of a scoop of C4 didn't light a fire under me either.

On day 2.5 of the peptide injections into the wrist, no change thus far unless maybe a bit worse.  My wife is on day 8 and her ankle is taking a turn for the better in the last day or two.  I'm also still taking the TB-500 twice a week, .2ml each time and 10mg/ml.  Will cut that in half next week and stay at that dosage for another two months.

If anyone's considering buying Super Training's new belt, probably shouldn't

Can't believe they brought such a low quality item to market and at that price.

That is really disappointing. Hopefully ST goes back and reevaluates the product if it really is that terrible. Doesn't change the fact that they do offer some awesome stuff though, I'm going to need a new slingshot(mine is getting too small).

Those look cheesy. I was very disappointed with my Elite FTS premium p2 power belt. Thinner than should have been and shitty rivet job. Inzer all the way. Consistent quality. My 2016 Inzer is every bit as well made as my 1996 Inzer (which still looks nearly new).
