Did you have a traumatic event leading to AC separation?

Happened during a combatives class. Weekend before thanksgiving.

Oh ya. You have mentioned that before. Sounds like a sucky injury, but one that can be healed up pretty quick.

Last month,
BP 215#
SQ 225#
DL 315#
MP 135#

Those are weights I have done, and I don't think any are maxes. Been doing more volume and running more to be better prepared for BJJ. Injury free and looking to make some nice gains once school is done for the summer.

Impressive fellas.

No matter how much you lift, just as long as you lift and do it for you, nothing else matters.

I'll leave you lifters with this quote.

"I'd rather throw and eat, than run and puke."

I don't know anything about Juggernaut but if it is a primarily higher rep program I would recommend Juggernaut far out from a meet/important test day and 531 as the meet approaches. That's if those are the only two options.

All time gym PR gym lifts for me are,
Squat 475
Bench w/ a pause 305
Deadlift 480

Meet PRs are
Squat 470
Bench 300
Deadlift 490

Current PRs 12 weeks back at it after a year and a half of not training/a few workouts a month
Squat 440
Bench 295
Deadlift 465

I feel like I am really missing out on my potential as a lifter by not having my own website, selling e-books, offering online coaching and consulting and flooding youtube with videos giving the same generic advice as everyone else. Kasab Strength System has a nice ring to it. Sure, I haven't really accomplished much in lifting but that's no reason for me to not jump on the bandwagon.

Going to go prep some meat After a trainer session...

Was supposed to do a recovery run yesterday at like 10:30 pace, forgot my garmin,  so ran by feel and "recovered" at my race pace.

OK.  I want to start this and have just ordered the hard copy off amazon.  Can someone give me a typical weeks worth of workouts so I can see how this usually goes?  I know it's probably in the 500+ pages of this thread, but I'll give up before I look through that many pages.

I sent you a PM to a basic review and layout of the routine. The standard lifts are always the same. The auxiliary lifts can be tailored to your need. I do boring but big, because I want to gain some size.

T-nation has a short article explaining the program
here

Black Iron Beast has a calculator that will figure out all your weights and even what plates to use for ever lift.
here

Google it and you will find a million articles about it.

I've done it three ways.  Full body like this:

Day 1
Squat (M - 65% x 5; 75% x 5; 85% x 5)
Bench 531
Deadlift 531

Day 2
Squat (L - 65% x 5; 75% x 5)
Press 531
Chins (Bodyweight)

Day 3
Squat 531
Bench/Press (M - 65% x 5; 75% x 5; 85% x 5)
Chin (weighted 5x5)

Or the standard:

Sun
Squat 531
RDLs 3 x 8
Calf Raise 3 x 15
DB Row 3 x 15

Tue
Press 531
Bench 3 x10
Chin ups (BW) 5 x 10
Face Pulls 3 x 15

Thu
Pause Squat 3 x 5
Deadlift 531
DB Row 3 x 15

Sat
Bench 531
Press 3 x 10
Chin ups (weighted) 5 x 5
Face Pulls 3 x 15

These all took less than 1 hour.  I usually do some FSL sets as well.  Now I am in my garage, we have a new baby so I am doing 2 days per week.  Sat Squat 531 and Bench 531, Weds. Press 531 and Deads 531.  I also do 3-5 sets FSL after the main lift and 7 minutes of chin ups after the main lifts.

I am 5'6" , 185 lbs.  36 yrs.  Recent lifts:
Squat 310 x 3
Press 167.5 x 3
Deadlift 345 x 6
Bench 265 x 4
When I was 165 I hit 5 chin ups with an 85 lb. dumbell.  Somehow I gained weight when the wife was pregnant so now I can only do 5 chin ups with a 55 lb plate.

Lifted hard today. Felt like I was going to throw up several times. I get that way after heavy squats, deadlift, snatches and cleans.
Still feel that way an hour later

Admittedly, I don't think I would have had the mental toughness to stand up for myself without CrossFit. That translated directly into the dissolution of my marraige. I think saying "CrossFit Ruins Bad Marraiges" might be somewhat accurate...

We use Shutterfly for family specific stuff. One of my coworkers was telling me a while ago about how he had reconnected via Facebook with a bunch of Marine buddies. They traveled the world, Somalia, the Panama event I think. Bunch of stuff. He was pretty excited about it. Pretty cool to hear him talk about it.

Yes, but what you said is entirely logical.  What the other poster said was basically "My fiancee started doing crossfit and it led to the break up of our engagement."  Admittedly, I may be reading that wrong but it almost translates to me as "if she hadn't started doing crossfit, she would be miserable in a marriage with me but at least I would be happy".

It's none of my business and tell me to fuck off if you want, but if I recall from watching your "fat to fit" transformation weren't you getting shit from your wife when you actually started seeing results?

Additionally, I'd like to do a mental study on guys that see pictures of strong women and say "she's a man" to understand what's going through their brains.  When I see a fit/strong woman, I'm immediately attracted because of those qualities rather than repulsed.

She definitely was not my biggest cheerleader, but even for her to ride my ass about getting stronger and healthier would have been a bit much. She was pretty quick to jump on the crossfit bandwagon though, I suspect half to "keep tabs" on me. Insert herself into parts of my life she wasn't present.

The strong women thing though... I'm with you. Girl tells me she can squat <X pounds> it doesn't even matter what X is, I'm aroused. You mean you aren't some delicate flower who is paralyzed without a man there to do things for you? That you and I can be equal partners in all different parts of life?

GOD WHAT A TURNOFF.

I of course didn't elaborate on warmup sets and I might also do multiple sets of the first set weight after the top set.  You will see after you receive Beyond 531.  Also, I did say in my post they took less than 1 hour.  More like 45 minutes, except the day with both 531 Deadlifts and 531 Bench was a bit more than an hour.  If you are training for strength you need to rest between sets and be fresh and recovered, especially for your top set.  Maybe 3-5 minutes between sets, and maybe 8 minutes if you go really heavy.  You want to have good crisp reps and to make your goals on your sets, and go for PR's.  Assistance it doesn't matter so much about the rest.

I know there's a CF thread in GD at least once a week and the same gifs and comments show up every time, "first rule of CF . . .", etc.  But for some reason I keep opening them.  That one had everything from planet fitness fatties talking smack to a former NFL player who's made it to CF games regionals twice.  If he's legit anyways.  I wonder what's next.

Yes. You win. Dick

A crossfitter, atheist and vegan walked into a bar. We know because they told everyone within 2 minutes.

I love to give the rabid, kool-aid drinkers (RKDs) hell...because it's fun. I think you guys are a bit spoiled. RoG changed my view of crossfit on here because locally all I've seen are the RKDs. I didn't realize there were decent crossfit gyms that programmed logically to meet your goals.

With that said, even the crappy gyms have exposed more people to the barbell than any other fad.

I only feel that way in cases where there's obviously liberal androgen supplementation. I have always preferred relatively strong women.

However, I can understand why a lot of men are offput by it, and it's not mysogyny (as the feminists would say) or insecurity (as many of us would say). Body shape/ratio is hardwired into our brains for attraction. There are instincts in there that say V shape = dude, Coke bottle = chick. Same way with gait. Almost everyone can identify "male" or "female" stick figures by the way they walk.

If a woman puts on sufficient mass and loses enough curves that the animal instinct part of the brain starts to get confused, I understand why some guys are weirded out.
