Ok, so sorry about the little hiccup and any possible bugs I will need to fix. Please just let me know if you run across anything and I will try to address it as quickly as possible.

This update has a number of key features for the upcoming new site, mostly behind the scenes stuff, but a few toys I decided to release as well. The new site beta will be available in the coming weeks for testing. This site will remain running during that time, so no worries on anything being unavailable. Don't ask yet for beta help, I will make a post when ready asking for volunteers.

Update Notes
- New GROUP system basics in place.
Groups will allow us to collect users into shared interests. Right now this means all the old groups will be phased out with the new site. If you are in the military group for example, you will be moved from the old system into the new, where you will see no difference save one. The military group will contain sub groups for each military branch. Happy news for some of you who wanted to ditch your tanks for something a little closer to home. These new icons will not be available yet, but it's part of the migration. There's a lot of flexibility in this system for creating groups, assigning groups to objects or functions, giving groups icons, and so forth.

- Shared Forums
We now have the ability to share forums across different areas of the site more seamlessly. This will lead to things like AR EE forums showing up in the EE as well as the AR section. Hopefully it makes your life a little easier when everything related is together. The forum will still live in it's original (hopefully organized) home, but it will be listed and displayed like normal in the new section.

- Forum URLS
A silly add which has been there and never really turned on. This just allows us to create forums which are links to another area of the site. Collections of documents or images are examples of where this may be used.

- Subscribe to forums
You can now subscribe to a forum and receive an email when a new post in that forum is created.

- Content Posts
Mods/Staff can turn topics into content. This allows great posts to be saved and shared! Content posts will use a new version system to track changes with each save and reference older versions. They will also be able to be shared across multiple authors and have a notes field so you can track what you have changed or need to work on.

- Archive Icons will now display
Silly note just so people know what that green icon is. This helps us know when a topic is set to avoid the archives.

- Youtube updates
You already know and hate them. Thanks, I appreciate that.

- Image updates
See above. (The border is added for security reasons and to identify off-site content.)

- SSL Updates
Also see above. (We moved to SHA-2 encryption and have been working to secure off site content.)

- Thread Paging Issue Tool
If you find one of those misbehaving threads, where you post but it doesn't show the next page properly, report the thread and a staff or mod can fix it quick!

- Related Site fixes
Love was given to the backdoor sites and the mobile code. (Mobile version will be removed soon. Yes, we are working on an APP.)

- Forum Performance Improvements
Generic to keep it simple. I've upgraded a number of items which will increase performance especially on highly trafficked discussions. This should make a big difference as more of these changes go live.

- Misc admin stuff
I'm not telling!!!

Known Issues With update:
- My Board having a few related issues. FIXED
- RSS feeds having issues. FIXED (But disabled board based RSS for now. I will address it tomorrow.)
- Precision Rifle Forum not working. FIXED.

Kidding! Looks like all changes for the better!

Particular issue is the "other ways" of access...since that's 95% of my access.

Forum subscriptions are already live and yes, you can subscribe to EE forums.

I see that you put the date in the thread title. Thank you.

You obviously see a need for it in this thread, and I agree.

So how about putting the creation date in every thread title ?

There is even a place for it, right under the authors name, on the 2nd line.

Currently, this is a blank space, so it wouldn't even use up screen real estate.

Just one of my beefs, keep up the good work.

And thanks for fixing the pics thingy. The new pic handler is great.

I'm having issues with this one. Getting server errors when attempting to access these sites. Have not had an issue accessing in the past.

Some threads are "cool" and we don't want them to fall into the archives, so there is a button to keep them active.

Like the highest post count thread. Remember back when we would have one of those and then it would get forgotten about for a month or two and get put in the archive. That is a way to keep a thread like that always active.

Mods can tag threads to skip going into the archives if they deem the thread worth keeping in the main system to revisit later. It's been around for a while.

Ok I fixed the RSS board feeds and a few other small things that have been mentioned.

Not sure where to post, so this seemed as good a place as any.

I know the little eagle head icon is for NRA members, I assume the tank is for military, but what is the little pistol icon for? I looked all over the site, but couldnt find an answer.
