I assume this is the "big" announcement?

Would have preferred .308. Blackout is such a niche cartridge. Oh well. I'll keep waiting!

What a disappointment! .308 would have been a better choice IMO. I won't be buying a blackout upper

Glad to hear it stag.

The 300 blk is great when suppressed.  220 gr bullet at 1050 fps.

Decent shooter to 100+ yds.

Supersonic, similar to a 7.62x39

Check out the 300 blackout thread here on ARF.

More choice is never a bad thing.

I say, good job!

Thanks Stag for another great option!

BTW, I'm guessing the .308 is still in the works and will eventually be available, as theyve stated previously. :)

Yep.

Bout as innovative as a right and left tube sock.

I agree and hopefully they will offer it in some shorter lengths also!

Great news. The more the .300 BLK market grows, the better. I think it's beyond the niche market some people are still claiming. Thanks Stag!

The more it grows the more ammo will become available from different manufacturers and hopefully that will bring the price down to $10.00 a box from $20.00+ a box.

I couldn't either when I looked yesterday but since they didn't have a short barrel I wasn't really interested in the others.

Agreed.....There are so many manufacturer's making .300 that to call it niche simply isn't true.  The only reason it still hasn't hit mainstream is because of ammo prices.......and when companies like Stag step up and start production, this will help drive prices down as supply increases.

Does the 300 blackout still use the standard buffer weight or one of the heavier carbine models?

Good grief, what a bunch if whiny babies!  An AR manufacturer comes out with an upper in a very popular cartridge, and everyone "Meh's" about it?  At least show some class, and say something like, "That is really exciting news to see Stag expanding their product line, and while I personally am not interested in the 300 BO, I can't wait to see what other calibers are coming down the pipe.  I for one, would be very interested in seeing XYZ caliber next."

My 9" barreled, SBRed 300BO is a joy to bang 3" steel with at 200M with subs and supers.  Lol at all the 100yd comments.

Good job Stag!

Depends on the manufactures configuration.  Each one is different, so you have to go off their recommendation.

Glad to see they are committed to making more calibers available to left handers and a major manufacturer giving options to all. I'm not exactly excited for a blackout round since I never see them in stores.

Yes, as in--too big.  8.2" barrel is all that is needed.  They could have made two from that 16" slug.

How about offering a pistol/sbr upper so people don't need to have them cut????  It saves shipping weight too, so you can help offset carbon credits for Al Gore's jet.

QFT

Makes me wonder what the naysayers would be saying if Stag had came out with a .277 Wolverine, 6x45, 7.62x40 or basically anything that was not a 300 blk.
