Goodbye to whatever money I was ever going to protect from BRD.

And to think, I just picked up two custom run lowers today for the GA HTF!
Maybe I missed it...when will it be up and running? |

Needs a lot of focus on optics, mounts, BUIS, clearance and co-witnessing. Preferrably with option to convert dimensions between metric and imperial.

With Vortex, Trijicon and LaRue all on board Optics and Mounts are definitely getting some love. Lots of BUIS from Troy, Magpul and others too. We really want co-witnessing to be top notch. Converting from metric to imperial, I'll bring that up with the team tomorrow! |

I am kind of glad that ar15.com is censored at work, or I would be fired in week. This looks great!

Finally a 3D builder. but not necessarily involving 3D printing technology Imagine being able to send the output of your design to a 3D printer after you finish... |

Guess I know where a bit of my savings is going to be 'invested' to. Awesome.

This sounds cool...yet my wallet and bank account are strangely pissed off at you guys about this.....

I am particularly interested in whether or not handguard and barrel lengths are going to be accurately represented. A tool that would take the mystery out of "Well, I wonder how long the 11" hanguard really is in relation to a 11" barrel" would have saved me about about $900 and quite a bit of time last year. Having said that, I am excited about this. Your efforts are appreciated.
evl.... |

I'd also like to know if other AR variants will eventually be added. Like KAC/DPMS or Armalite style .308s(and what parts can connect to them!)?
Either way, this is going to be an awesome addition to the site! :) |

Very cool. I've always liked the weapon builder programs but it seems they are long outdated now.

If a rail is 13.8 inches, in GUNSTRUCTION it will be 13.8 inches :) Sometimes we're building it off pictures and manufactures data though, so it's only as accurate as that. If there is a problem with a part that the community identifies, say a barrel that is actually longer or shorter then the specs claim, we'll fix it. |

Looking forward to playing with this will it have parts weights ?

Looking forward to playing with this will it have parts weights ? yes, weight per part in the part info screens and then overall weight. |

As if I didn't already spend enough time on ARFCOM.
This will be a great tool! -Ray |

This seems like quite the project.
Each an every part needs to be modeled for a library. All the geometry needs to be in place for model alignments etc, etc. Looks like CATIA in a way. I did 20 years of submarine construction In the end the design work was similar, build the 3D parts library, then model the assembly , then go to 2D Greatest of encouragement on your efforts (Looks like a career) Wm. |

It is cheaper than what I do now - buy, install, remove, sell, repeat.

Now it needs an API script or whatever it is called to Los all parts then link up with arpartsfinder or something and make a single shopping cart that completes the orders at all vendors with one mouse click and a magic fairy delivers all in 72 hrs.

Um, what do you think Gunstruction is for? This will allow you to configure your rifle, to your exact specs, with exactly the parts you want, knowing they'll work together as you intend and BUY that exact configuration. Someone, please correct me if I'm wrong.

Will it be able to show if a build will be front or back heavy?
