Edit for clarification: I do believe that video games contribute to desensitization to violence however I also believe that the 1st Amendment protects the right to make and distribute them. I believe that parents, not the .gov should be managing access to video games as well as guns to those under 18.

I make no guesses about what video games are doing - we played cowboys and Indians, and it was not all that rare that it was played with bb guns. That said, heard the term today - Peter Pan's. I suspect that the video games did cause a bit of that.
