LaRue Tactical Costa-Edition 5.56 Rifle Limited numbers 001-125 (of 500) The quest for a perfectly-balanced and reliable 5.56 rifle led Chris Costa to LaRue Tactical for a custom "signature series” rifle to bear his name. Costa requested the best of both worlds; the popular and lightweight PredatAR chassis, combined with the accuracy and reliability of an OBR 5.56 barrel. LaRue brought these elements together and provided it with a 14.5” barrel that is pinned and welded with a SureFire Muzzle Brake. A LaRue Tactical first, The entire frame is finished in FDE, KG GunKote with the "COSTA LUDUS” logo engraved on the left side of the receiver. Black parts and rail covers provide dramatic contrast. The first 500 units will be match-numbered on the upper and lower. Rifles will ship within one business week (providing we have a proper FFL to ship to). NOTE: Your credit card will be charged at the time of the order. Ships within 1 business week. |

Pretty tricked out. Recent article in RECOIL magazine on the collaboration.

Six have sold in the last 40 minutes. Wish I had the cash. That is a work of art.

I'm in more of a DPMS price range with my current salary
Maybe Costa will do some sort of Willy Wonka/Charlie Bucket give away for my sad, poor ass. |
|
WAAAAAAAAAAAAAY out of my price range. Good looking piece though. |

Nice rifle. Very nice rifle. No matter what, could never justify spending $2,895 just on a rifle without optics of any sort. Kinda of like spend $60,000 on a Lexus when I could by a Toyota for $25,000. Now if the Beard wanted to give me one, you would here no complaints from me.

Kinda of like spend $60,000 on a Lexus when I could by a Toyota for $25,000. Now if the Beard wanted to give me one, you would here no complaints from me. But Chris Costa endorsed it! It's a nice gun, but not $3,000 nice. |
|
Don't care if Chuck Norris endorsed it, $3000 is to much. This comes from a guy who thinks paying $1000 for a user Colt is too much. I'll stick with Spikes and CMMG, I think they are great products especailly for the price. Now they don't look as cool as this rifle, but I like to shoot and abuse my guns. Maybe it's just the Marine in me.

Oh, if I had the money... Yep, I would too. You know what I'm impressed with? They've kept up on our country's gun laws (well, close enough) and will actually ship a CA-Legal version to your FFL, if you've got the cash. That's pretty awesome, in my book. Lesser dealers and/or manufacturers would just say "fuck it, I don't want to deal with this shit". Major Kudos to LaRue for making the effort. |

I would sure be disappointed if ML were that way, 'cuz he has all the good shit! |
|
I was fixing to break out the credit card on that sucker, but realized the price. Do ya'll do any trading and bartering in souls? I reckon I may as well trade it away for that beautiful machine! Lol nice job guys.

Looks great, but not sure what real advantage it has to bring it near $3K. I wonder how much Costa is getting per rifle sale...I bet he gets 1/3 of every sale. Someone said it earlier, this is not an every day range rifle, this is one for the tacticool collection.

Add on the extra work and cost associated with the finish, the pinned SF brake. The base rifle comes in at 2605 without sights. I don't think it's overpriced. |
|
Is the light and or laser included, or just available? I don't see them listed in the what's included list. The same question for optics and sights.
|
|
I'm guessing that a stainless barrel is not chrome lined? Lots o' dough for a rifle with no sights or sling. And no chrome lining.
|
|
if one can hang on until christmas time, I may be able to get one! my chances are slim I am sure.

Includes: 2 Magpul Pmags*, 3 ea 3” rail sections, 21 ea GAP Covers, 1 ea OBR sling adapter, 36 FDE index clips. Cause if they included the light and laser, I'd have ordered my allotted two already. I am seriously considering one as is though. The problem is I don't "NEED" it... I just WANT it!! |
|
Obviously, ya'll are missing the fact that this stick is constructed ENTIRELY of Unobtainium; the rarest of noble metals.
Costa affiliation aside, this alone justifies the $$$$. |
|
ALL GONE
So will you post again when the as the remaining serial numbers are made? |
|
Its a Special Edition, lets face it guys, when Magpul Rifles were coming out, most of you splooged all over the idea of picking one up.
I'd rock the shit out of a PredatOBR, I don't need the Costa Edition, but people will eat it up and good on Larue for seeing a market and acting on it. So Mark, if you want to send me a PredatOBR, Ill happily call it the Byrd Edition |
|
Is there a rail difference between the PredatOBR, and the C/L version? Length wise. (Obviously the 14.5 version)

Other manuf like Barrett and KAC for ex do not sell to CA based on the political situation in that state and how they piss on the 2A. It has nothing to do the tech. loops they have to jump thru to modify their weapons to make them legal for the masses. |

Already have two OBR's, could you please leave my wallet alone Mr LaRue?
So.....how soon can that tOBR be at my dealer? |

The laser is a AN/PEQ-15A and if you actually find one for sale it will cost way more than that rifle does. It is also an IR laser, which companies basically cannot sell to civilians. |
|
Yep...I'm more a "cobble my own together from factory seconds" budget these days since the landlord got the house were were living in foreclosed on. Had 3k saved up over the past two years, and was planning on ordering a 18" 7.62mm OBR next month....alas, it got to move the family instead. Here's to maybe in two more years.

There are some vendors that won't sell certain items here when it is perfectly legal to do so, M855 for example. I won't go through companies like that for any purchases.

and if you had a business out of state you might decide its easier to not deal with CA sales - if you are so unhappy about the situation run for office and change the laws.
