I replied by the website's instant message system to follow the rules listed on http://www.ar15.com/content/page.html?id=301 18. Buyers –– STOP the trivial 'mail sent' nonsense. Simply send the seller an e-mail and/or IM. I have low feed back, my main reason for joining was to use the Equipment Exchange and my knowledge level is lacking to answer most threads with a quality reply. My last two purchases I left feed back for the sellers but like many others here, only one left feed back for me. Which leaves me with a 50% rate for lack of feedback. If this current transaction is included, then the lack of non feedback will rise to 66%. Both of us could use the increase for positive feedback to show our good character and to help us on our way out of the single digits. With members griping about posts, feedback ratings to the point of "...not doing deals with low numbers...", you can see how new members are penalized for following the rules. I hope the new system encourages feedback, from what I've read it sounds good. I read the nine pages on this thread and checked threads first before asking, trying to not be a bother and/or stupid newbie post aka "lurk moar". I liked my ebay rating for when they viewed it farther, it showed the higher number for repeat transactions with certain sellers, showing a strong ethic of sending payment quickly and by tracking to reassure the person it was coming. I hope this is how the new system will work out with maybe links to the posts to help identify if they are a buyer with a high rating, a seller with a high rating or a mix to some level of both. I fully understand the trust difference from being a seller to being a buyer and how others want to see that you delivered the goods when money was sent to someone else first.
I'm unsure if the ending section on http://www.ar15.com/content/page.html?id=301 Number 18 "EXCEPTION: IF YOU WANT TO BUY AN ITEM, YOU MUST POST AN "I'LL TAKE IT" IN THE THREAD IN ORDER TO LEAVE AND RECEIVE FEEDBACK UNDER THE AUTOMATED FEEDBACK SYSTEM. was already altered/updated when I contacted the seller by im and arranged details for payment and the items wanted. The seller didn't change the listing to to reflect a sales pending funds ether. Is there a way the thread(and other threads caught in the tide of change) can be unarchived/unlocked until the feedback and all transactions are finished and/or perhaps a final feed back request thread for the stragglers?
My hat is off to everyone who is working hard to manually switching the ratings over. The feed back lists can be overwhelming when hunting a user's rating up in the past. Migrating such data individually is is a gigantic task that hours of work will barely show except only to those who realize how many other names there are than theirs for this site. Certain sections/names with all the little variations of popular terms are the worst for a feeling of progress to see the leading letters change. Bill |

Once an ad is archived it can not be brought back, the only way your feedback can be entered now is to contact a Mod/Staff to have it entered manually.
We will need both parties in the transaction to contact us (if you want feedback for both parties) via IM with a link to the archived ad so that it can be entered in the comments of the feedback. |

Sorry if this is a redundant question. I am way behind on posting feedback from previous deals,
And The original adds are not active,so is there a member search? What is the best way for me to leave feedback? |

If the ads have been archived, then the window of opportunity for leaving feedback has closed.

I just checked an archived ad of mine, and the feedback button is still visible and active for people who replied to the ad. I clicked it and it takes me to the feedback form. I can't test it though because I've already given feedback to anyone I've dealt with. |

I found an error/flaw whatever you want to call it.
When you leave feedback for the person it will continue to allow you to leave feedback. So a couple people/friends could rack up as many points as they wanted to. Just a heads up J |

I suppose that the current system doesn't have a way to negate that issue. I guess that if someone has a bunch of feedback from the same person, it should cause others to take a second look before finalizing a deal with that person. Goatboy stated at the beginning that certain things would be watched to minimize this sort of activity, but didn't go into details. Hopefully the next phase will involve a fix for this issue. |

That was on me, there's actually 2 systems, the current "tweaked to fit" and the full EE system which is being worked on. (It's been a while since I've had time to dedicate to it.) This was a result of the current code looking for data for the new system and not seeing it. Basically new listings will feature as "item count" which the current system does not have.
Anyhow, trying to enter repeat feedback for a thread will result in an error and the feedback being rejected as was intended. |

Feedback has now been adjusted, as per your collective input, to count neutrals as neither positive nor negative. Negatives count against a user, positives for a user, neutrals are simply ignored and thus can be used when transactions do not merit positive or negative responses.

I know, I know. I'm techno-impaired and slow of brain. Tried to IM or email but could not find a way to email the administrator. Ok, I read how we can leave auto feedback. It's a great idea long in coming. I just bought a great knife. I want to leave feedback. Help! It sounds like I am supposed to leave a comment in the thread and that will allow me to leave feedback? True? I'm worried that I will be water boarded for leaving an unnecessary reply. So would someone patiently walk me through how to leave feedback on a purchase (and vice versa)? Oh, and could you email me this as it took me forever just to make sure I'm in the right forum for this request. And, for that matter, am I in the right forum?

How do i handle WTB ads? I listed some parts i wanted in the WTB AK parts and such section, and, got most of them from a seller on here. I posted positive feedback in the thread for him. What next for my feedback, wait for him to post in the ad? Thanks

Thanks So you had a WTB ad but then found the parts from another for sale ad here is that what your sayin? if you left feedback for the guy you purchased from with the new system then you must have posted in his ad correct? if so, then he can leave feedback for you in the same manner in that ad, there should be a red feedback button on your post only visible to him just like the one on the sellers ad. |

Someone responded to "my" ad for WTB AK parts, said he had some of the parts i wanted(not "listed" in an ad for sale) I sent him money order, i received parts..... i then posted +1 feedback in "my" WTB thread. Does he need to post in my thread for the feedback button?? Hope this better explains it

You should always require the buyer to post "I'll take it" in an ad, so that they'll have a feedback button to click. Just have the person do so now. I can manually enter it in for you if it comes down to it, but it won't have a comment showing who the buyer is, etc. |
