just measured one of my 308 rifles for COAL.

What say you, is .200" to much of a jump? :)

Rem 700 AAC SD cartridge head to lands - .002" = 3.010".

Have any of you measured your REM 700, and if so how close are you?


Even if I could get longer than max COAL loads to fit in the mag it would be cutting super close to leaving .308" of bullet in the neck.

FC Case trimmed to 2.010"
Bullet: Nosler Ballistic SilverTip 168g.  1.311"

My Remmy chamber has 155 Scenars touch the lands at 2.963 so I load them at 2.948.
