With a longer barrel and getting them to 2750fps they will make 1150. Not too bad.

I'm still skeptical because of twist rate. Even up here in the thin air at high altitudes, I watch 155gr AMAX fan apart at 800yds from a 16" barrel. No predictable impact beyond that, other than a wide dispersal around the target.
That is one of the biggest problems with .308 at long range-twist rates are too loose.
If you spun even an old school 168gr SMK with 1/9, you would have better performance at distance.
But since muzzle blast, recoil, and muzzle climb are still what they are, you won't see these improvements change much in competition.
I chased 155gr Scenar at high speed for a little while, but had unpredictable performance at distance, which was just not acceptable for ranges much past 700yds.
