They seem to work well if you aren't shooting suppressed.
They also seem kind of fragile at least according to what Frank over on SH has said as his had broken twice after one semi-decent fall and one time when it simply tipped over off of it's stand. |

I tried to talk myself into a Labradar but wound up just getting a Magnetospeed.

I got one on loan to review, it didn't work for shit. I tried every setting, everything in the manual, 3 different guns and over 100 rounds of ammo and couldn't get it to work.
The same unit was sent to another YouTuber and it didn't work for him until he called the manufacturer, I think the cause ended up being not enough wide open space to the left and right of the range. Which means it never would have worked for me anyway. Waste of my time piece of shit IMO. |
|
...let me clue you in. I am not in danger, Skyler. I AM the danger. A guy opens his door and gets shot and you think that of me? No. I am the one who knocks!

I've had the LabRadar for just over a year: https://www.ocabj.net/labradar-chronograph-review/
I personally think it is great. The only quirks I have had initially were when someone's rifle set off the LabRadar from a couple benches over (muzzle brake). I dialed down the sensitivity one notch and all was well. I can't comment on suppressed guns. I live in California. The LabRadar is dead nuts easy to use, at least the way I shoot. I just throw the homemade mount on the bench (or use a tripod if I need more bench space), point the LabRadar at my target, and go to town. Could you spend half the price (or less) and get a Magnetospeed? Sure. I wouldn't discourage you from getting one. My only opinion is to skip over optical chronographs. There is no reason to have to deal those anymore. |

I think they are super accurate, but during load development I want to rule out any poi shift and group dispersion. I've seen it posted multiple times that they don't open groups up but it's one more thing I could rule out. Just my thought. That being said does anyone know where to get one cheaper? Discount code? |

The last lab radar we worked with ran at 2.236 gHz, and we were trying to shovel it onto a cart to see if it could be used as a GPR to find the electrical lines leading into the building-- didn't work, it was three feet square and weighed four hundred pounds--
Wait-- could he have meant Labrador? As in retriever? Great dogs, smart and loyal-- |

Just pulled the trigger after a year or more of back and forth.
Got it for two reasons mainly. For one, when I shoot long range my time is limited, the range is far so I only go about 8 times a year,i like to make the most of each trip. I bring at least 2 rifles, one or both have more than one load. It is time consuming and costly to fire 5 of each for MV and five of each for zero offsets. So with the Labradar it should be half the time and half the rounds. Second, I go to the local range every weekend with at least one rifle and do 10 rounds with the Magneto for MV data and at least 10 rounds for groups. So again, with the Labradar the rounds fired can be "doing" two things at once. Oh and one of my places that take PP finally got some. 6 months no interest to pay off. The thing should pay for itself in short time for as often as I shoot. |

Been ordering from them for a few years, never been disappointed. |

After a long time considering the LabRadar, I finally picked one up.....
Attached File ..........I don't care if she lies to me..... ;) Attached File ...........I'm hooked....... :0 Attached File Suppressors may be finicky, but if you read your manual you should be GTG. I mount mine on a sturdy tripod and use an external rechargeable battery. I could go on & on about this unit but, it does do what it's supposed to do. As I understand it, some folks had an issue with their unit, but I'm thinking that - if they bought the unit - their warranty came in to play and they should have been taken care of...... My $0.02 |

Ha love this thing, worked perfectly from first shot to last. Set it up like below, and didn't touch it once. Did 70rounds through my .308 and blasted a 30rnd mag of wolf through my truck gun, recorded everything.
There was a guy next to me(10-12') on a bench blasting a .338 lapua with a brake, no issues. FWIW - This is what you get if you use an SD card to record your data.
Remove it from the unit, plug it into your computer's SD slot and open the file in an Excel-type software program. I wasn't able to take a screenshot of all the data as it extended down to about line 115 or so, but this should give you an idea of what info the Labradar can provide you. Lines 2, 3, & 4 contain my device serial #, the series #, and the the shot #. I hope this is good stuff for some of you gear-heads/tech-heads, etc. Attached File ETA: Received this e-mail today (08/31/2017)....... LabRadar Bluetooth App Coming Soon! The Bluetooth app will allow users to control the LabRadar device remotely from your phone or tablet, let you export your data files, and many more features to be announced soon. We do not have a firm release date at this time, but if you register your LabRadar at www.mylabradar.com you be notified when the firmware is available. |

For those having problems with it picking up suppressed shots, get the “air gun kit” and it works perfectly.
Since getting that piece I haven’t had any trouble with it not hearing the muzzle blast. |

Will not shelter in place

I have #0004 serial number. It's one of the best chronographs out there. For those who couldn't get there's working, you must be computer illiterate. I shoot next to folks who are 4 feet from me. Just turn down the sensitivity. Simple. Like anything new like this, takes time to learn it. It's worth every penny!
