Is this range finder any good? Been needing to upgrade from my simmons LRF that can barely laze out to 400.

I concur, I think the newest version is the 2200 though.

I think it is great for the money, the only negative is there is no tripod mount.

The 2200MR is a better plan since it is an update 2000.

Heard great things about the Kilo2000 as well as the Vortex Ranger1500.

The Kilo2000 is probably the best bang for the buck rangefinder out there. It works awesome, and most anything else that works a bit better costs several times more. I love mine and have zero plans or want to upgrade, it's awesome.

I just got the LRI holder last week and it works great. It's pricey but will last a lifetime!!
