They are awesome for the money. My leica 1600 is getting sold. Kilo blows it away.

How close were the measurement readings to the actual distances? Getting an accurate reading is important.

In actual testing the Leica 1600 out performs the Sig Kilo 2000 and is about even with the 2400.

You just scan and pan on everything distant so you will figure out what the measurement is for the target, the berm behind it, or the tree in between. Its FAR easier than point shooting a tiny beam with single pulses, provided you are ranging a large enough object and inside 1200 yards. The 4X a second ability means you will likely get 2 or 3 reads out past 600 on poorly reflective targets every 3 seconds. Within 5 to 10 seconds you are VERY sure of what the range is and it is VERY consistent. You can range other objects and come back and it reads the same to within .1 to .3 y/m and you can see the difference in flat objects that are not square to the ranger from one side to the other quite consistently. Id say that its not about how accurate is the reading vs if you are actually hitting the correct target and discriminating that target from other range-able objects in the area. The unit itself is always accurate... the users interpretation, not so much.

It's one of the best LRFs I've ever used, and I've used several.

For the money, it's a lot of LRF.

After going from single samples to pan and scan, there is no going back. I highly recommend the Sig Kilo 2000. I've been running mine for 6 months or so and it replaced an order Leica. The Leica was accurate, it’s just so much easier to determine range in mixed ground cover environments with the Sig Kilo. I had planned on buying a Leica 1600, but have no regrets about getting the Sig Kilo.

Sig is releasing the Kilo 2400 soon.  Upgraded glass, full sensor suite (temp, barometer, etc), Bluetooth, and an applied ballistics computer.  Load the LRF up with your load data via Bluetooth, go to the range or hunting and manually enter the wind call.  Laze your target and get an instant firing solution.

ETA - and a company in Isreal just announced they have figured out how to measure wind with lasers.  Eventually that could be incorporated giving a true one shot firing solution.

I called SWFA yesterday. They said it was out of stock, but that they have more on the way. I had Optics Planet match the SWFA price this morning.

From what I've read this is a lot of rangefinder for $350. I just hope I don't regret not waiting for the release of the new model.

For someone who shoots under 800 yards, how does the 850 compare to the 2000? It's less than half the price, and budget is always a concern

Same hyperscan.  It works very well - if you're only going to 800, the 850 will work well for you.  Also, look at the 1250.

I got mine in from Optics Planet the other day!  Farthest I've hit is 1260 yards on a water tower.  I need some more distant objects to hit.  There is one cell tower farther out, but I'm guessing it's closer to 3,000 yards and I can't get a reading.

I got one a few weeks ago. Paid $386.75 delivered on a site called universalmania.com. I wish SWFA had come up in the google search when I was checking prices. Even so it is not a huge difference.

I am new to precision shooting and using a range finder so I do not have anything to compare it too.

I can say that my building at work is 500 feet wide and we went out into the warehouse where we could hit wall to wall. It came up just under 500 feet. I hit the 50, 100, 200, 300, and 600 yard ranges at OKC gun club and the yardage was right there. On the way to the range one of the roads is closed. There are huge signs at the next intersection that I have ranged multiple times. The distance is consistently coming up ~638 yards LOS. The farthest I have been able to range something was 1968 yards. I cannot remember if it was a stop sign or a car.

I ranged a guy on a Harley farting down the street at 300+ yards. I kept in on scanning and the distance instantly updated as he moved further away.

It uses a CR2 battery. I have nothing else that uses this battery. I wish it used something more common. It would have been great if they made it to use the more common CR123.

I like it. It feels solid and is fairly light. Feels comfortable in the hand and I have medium/small sized hands.

ETA - One thing I do like is the battery cover is metal (not sure if it is aluminum or magnesium) and not plastic. Now matter how much they charge for it, I am sure it is made in China/India/Pakistan/Taiwan. Problems can arise with small plastic covers like that. By making it metal they took that out of the equation.

Getting a 338LM in shortly and after seeing this, looks like my next purchase. Currently have the vortex 1000 but now need a longer range finder. Thanks for the posts folks. Have to sell my vortex now. But may wait for the 2200. Not out yet.

I saw that. Ouch. The 2200 is $499. I just posted my vortex for sale and ordering the 2000. Should work for me until next year when the newer ones come out.
Just ordered from SWFA. Found only 2 places selling for $349. Everyone else wants $499.

So, I have the opposite question then..............has anyone tried using the KILO for very short distances?  I am on the fence of buying one, but want to be able to use it for bow hunting as well.

I would need it to measure down to 20 yards.  I assume it would do so, but hate to find out it only goes to 50 yards on the low end.

Can anyone confirm it measures down to 20 yards?  And does the giant ass circle for the reticle work at short distances?  I'm used to much finer dots or crosshairs in my LRF's.

I'm sure it will measure lower than 20 yds.   I don't remember the min distance and since I loaned mine to a friend, I cant check it for you right now.

I just ordered one today from SWFA, total with shipping $356.90.  About the same price at Cabela's both are on sale, who knows for how long.  Till I have some life changing event and move out west, it should exceed my needs.  I have been searching all day to find something negative on them, and so far not coming up with anything solid.

I am late to the party, just got a Kilo 2000 yesterday. I know there are new models on the way but I figured the Kilo 2000 is still a hell of a buy at less than $400.

I saw some negative comments on snipers hide about the Kilo but glad to see that most are having great results with them.

They mostly surround the formfactor of the product.  Handheld only, when lazing at extreme distances hard to hold it steady enough for a reading, have to get a 3rd party tripod mount that has questionable availability, even then the mount is slip fit.  Also some bashing of the optics here and there when compared to a terrapin (4x the cost) or a Leica (3x the cost).  Going from memory when I found the comments.
