So I'm looking to ditch my Leopold MK 4 10x for a little more magnification and an updated reticle. I see most have a lit reticle option, and some don't... Will I be missing out or will I not miss it ?

Looking at the Burris Veracity without the lit reticle.

My .02. You'll like it if doing low light shooting , Dusk or dawn hunting or have old eyes.  Otherwise Meh.

The only time I've used mine was coyote killing at dusk.

Do you shoot dark targets in low light?

That's what I keep telling myself.... I only shoot in the day... until I don't... I'm thinking I can do with out it.

I shot a match in the rain earlier this spring and the illuminated reticle was invaluable .

I don't often use mine, but if you need it, you won't get by without one.

Like the saying goes, "better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it".

I've never used mine. I don't even install the battery into my scopes that have it. Ymmv.

Bearcat is right, I usually don't even need it with the clip on NV, but it sure is nice to have.
Cheap enough for what it does.

I just punch paper and steel.  Don't need an illuminated reticle for that.

This. I don't use mine a lot but it is a nice feature to have.

I like having one. Helps me see the reticle on a black target. A buddy of mine I shoot with doesn't like them. He'll turn mine off when he use my rifles. I turn his on when I use his. At some point during the day we end up cussing at each other for a bit

I have one (S&B PMII) and very rarely use it. I can think of twice in the last 8 years that I've actually needed it.

I wasted money when I opted for the illum reticle.
