someone local has a vortex viper pst 6-24 moa ffp pst-624f1-a for $650 and I was wondering if that's a good deal? I haven't used a moa or mrad before so learning will be new to me from the standard hunting scopes that I used in the past.

Pretty good deal. New they were $950. And the good part about buying a used Vortex is that if anything is wrong or breaks then they will fix it no matter if you are the first or 10th owner. They also cover accidental damage if you drop it or run it over with your truck.
