Looking for a new scope for 1000+ yard shots. Right now I'm looking all over the place and could use some help narrowing my search.

Question 1 is what's your budget?

I'd say $2000 maybe $2200 but I'd prefer a little less if there's something comparable.

Steiner or vortex both beat your budget and great glass

It depends a lot on what kind of shooting your doing

Benchrest
Field
Groups
Plinking steel
Do you need FFP?
What caliber you using?
Does weight matter?

Depending on what you're needs are you may want to hold off as Bushnell is going to release the XRS genII sometime in the near future. Rumor says it has same glass as Razor GenII, illum, new (easier) zero stop, throw lever comes in 4.5-30X.

It's going on a 50 bmg so weight isn't a huge factor. I've been looking at the

vortex pst 8x26x50
Vortex razor hd gen 2 4.5x27x56

Nightforce NXS 8x32x56

Bushnell xrs 6x30x50

Think most of those numbers are right I'd like to stay in that power range.

You definitely don't want to put a cheap scope on a 50 bmg it will destroy it.

I have an Bushnell XRS on my PRS rifle for the last 3 seasons and It's been excellent

And friend has a Razor gen 2 that I've shoot a good amount and it's excellent as well

I'm not a big fan of the Vortex gen 1 PST line maybe the gen 2 will be better

Mile high has a good deal going on the gen 1 Razor

Vortex gen 1

Also the SWFA HD 5-25x is a great scope if you don't want a Christmas tree reticle
