I have a very low opinion of cheap Nikon scopes so I would recommend the Burris.... which I have no experience with, no experience is better than bad experience I guess.

Weird. I have the P-223 3-9 on my savage .22LR and really like it. Nikon have very good optics. dont know about the burris but I am also in the market for an affordable optic for my .223 bolt gun.
ETA where are you finding the burris for that price? NM found it. I Fo'd Thanks

I'd say both are comparable. Nothing wrong with the P series scope that I've used or seen, but I prefer going with the Monarchs or M series. I've gotten most of mine on sale for that price.
