Hello everyone,

Does anyone offer ar15 barrels chambered in 6mm Grendel? I've narrowed down my next build to that cartridge and would like to pick up a barrel soon.

Thanks for any recommendations

Black Hole Weaponry  name was changed to Columbia River Arms they make .243LBC/6mm Grendel Barrels.

Columbia River Arms Configure-Your-Custom-Barrel-243-lbc

The 243 LBC is a reamer designed for Black Hole. It was called the 243 LBC because we couldn't use the name "Grendel".

If you mean 6.5mm Grendel, Alexander Arms is probably your best bet.

What's the difference between the 6 grendel and the 6mmppc? I have always had a couple of  .243's and never really looked at the slower 6mm's.

Here's a reply for everyone.  This isn't the variant forum so maybe I won't get yelled at.  AR15performance has 6mm Grendel barrels.

There is also 6mmar.com he has various other wildcats based on the grendel case and a few other cases.

Shoulder is more forward on 6mm AR, allowing more case capacity.

Just over 2600-2700.  22 inch barrel.

Update: ar performance only offers 18" length barrels so that's not going to work. Blackhole/Columbia has what I want but they are estimating 8-12 weeks until it would ship. Once again that is no good for me. On the hide it was recommended that I look into the 6 fat rat. I don't really want to fireform but I may be able to get a barrel sooner so that's now a possibility.

Who's selling fat rat barrels?  Is that through Whitley via ARX?

Final verdict: ordered a 6 fat rat varmint off Lee. Thanks for all the recommendations and information in this thread. I'm leaning primarily towards young manufacturing for their chrome bolt but plan on doing a little more research.

Cheers

I personally do not know. From what I read a turbo has about a grain more case capacity so maybe the shoulders are blown a touch more farther forward.

I just for my fat rat space gun upper about 6 weeks ago.  I also ordered a Whidden hydroform die so I didn't have to fire form am of my brass.  So far I'm impressed, though I've been traveling for work most of that time and haven't had much time to spend with it.
