I've got a MARS rail for my mod 5 and I've got the NF 5.5-22 scope. What rings or mount do I need? The first page is a little confusing. It says MARS rail but also nightforce unimount and base?

Anyone know what the deal is with a GB seller known as fred1352? He is selling a bunch of Remington MARS rails. I have emailed him and he claims to know nothing about the rails. Doesn't know if they are long action or short. He claims they are take offs but when I asked him if the screws are there, he says no. A little weird.

My Mk13 Mod5 is finally complete. My KAC Mk11 Mod0 "NSW Return" suppressor cleared the Form 4 on Friday so @Great_Balls_Of_Fire (@Mtxtwelve) and I went out yesterday evening to stretch our matching Mod5 clones out. It was my first time shooting distance with the rifle and the first time shooting it suppressed.
My Mk13 Mod5 is straight from HCS. Glass is NF 3.5-15 FFP. Heres a pic of my rifle (PVS30 not mine) Attached File Youtube link is of me and my Mk13 Mod5 with GBOF's left foot making an appearance. He struck the 700yd target first. Also the winds were "swirling". Failed To Load Title Photo and Video Cred- ECPrevatte (@blackrifle) |

They were a limited release year or so ago from HCS. Kevin only had 6 or so and none have shown up since. Odds are they were a limited release. Great to hear you got all the parts man!

Do I have to run a m110 FH with the mk11 suppressor I bought? It's a mk11 mod 0. The whole point was so I didn't have to put the flash hider on my mk13.
the description in small arms sales says it mounts with the m110 hider. I don't think that's right. I did not buy it there but mine is the same part number. 98440 |

No, the M110 FH is not necessary nor will it operate with the suppressor as far as I know. Contouring the barrel is a must when utilizing the Mk11Mod0 suppressor.
Here is a shot of how the can mounts onto the barrel, notice the contouring. Yes it looks like a whale penis. All Mk13Mod5s look like this: Attached File PC Cred- ECPrevatte Originally Posted By Samson-Dogg:

1. The M110 and the Mk11Mod0 suppressors are two different beasts.
2. M110 suppressor was not placed on Mk13mod5 (No Mk13 had a M110 suppressor) 3. The M110 does not have the contoured barrel to accommodate its suppressor. 4. Not sure where you're finding this info that's leading to you freaking out Originally Posted By Samson-Dogg:

I know when they assemble my mk13 they will fit the can to the barrel but I also read an m110 can has to be fitted to the m110 barrel. I've never heard of that either. A person from knights said they shoot your gun with 20 suppressors and chose one. That sounds retarded. Maybe they can do that before they ship out military packages but for civilians I don't see how it's even possible logistically. And I love the look of the "whale penis" on my m110 and mk13. Should I nab an M24 trigger for the mk13 mod 5 and what do they go for normally?
@elvis121-I saw the ad for that m24. Is that price average for an M24? I'm thinking about looking for an M24 or M40. Edit-bought the M24 trigger. Didn't want to miss it. Comes with the profile sheet and data from Remington. Still waiting on the mk11 mod 0 can to send it all for assembly but what the hell. Figure it will save some money on triggerwork maybe ???? Haha. Yea. I spent 5k on a gun and saved a few bucks on trigger work. .....rationalization. It sounds good. Honesty- I thought it was cool as hell. |

I don't know how much it costs to tune a trigger.
All the M24 triggers I've seen were in the $300 range. Stock Rem 700 triggers you can basically get for free. I have a stock Rem 700 trigger in my Mk13, and you can definitely tell it's tuned. Very fine tuned. |

Looking at doing a Mk13 Mod 7. Going to be ordering the chassis and action next week if all goes to plan. Does anyone know if the top rail supplied with the chassis is tapped for a Rem 700 action or a Stiller Tac300?
|
|
|
I assume the Stiller, as I don't think any Remington actions were used on MOD7s. Call up Mile High Shooting, they for sure could tell you, their the NA Accuracy International Service center and(I believe) their biggest dealer.

Those with access to the MK13 Mod 7 TRS/IPB, I would really appreciate some help. I’m trying to confirm the exact recoil lug used on the MK13 Mod 7 for a spec clone build. It should be listed in the illustrated parts breakdown table with a part number. It would also be great if you could confirm the muzzle brake/flash hider part number/s from the TRS/IPB.
For reference the MK13 Mod 5 documentation states the recoil lug is part number "301-01G” and the operators manual says it’s 0.250” thick. I’d love for someone to confirm the same info for the Mod 7! Gig’Em |

|
|
The MK 13 Mod 7 barrel blank is referenced as a "Taper 147" contour at Lilja. It runs about $350 and can be ordered directly from Lilja. PDF link below from Lilja's website, notice in the DWG number it specially references the MK 13 Mod 7.
http://riflebarrels.com/wp-content/uploads/taper147.pdf |
|
|
I saw their Mk13 Mod7 barrel but in their description of the barrel they reference Chris Kyle's rifle which if I'm not mistaken was a Mod 0 and Mod 5?
|
|
|
Correct, they are different barrel blanks. All 3 are made by Lilja, however different tapers.
MK 13 Mod 0 = Lilja "Tactical Taper" MK 13 Mod 5 = Lilja "MK13 Mod 5 Taper" MK 13 Mod 7 = Lilja "Taper 147" All 3 barrel variants have the same "guts". They're all .30 caliber, 10 RH twist, 416R SS, 4-groove, however the outside tapers vary based on changes required to support suppressors/etc. |

Thanks for the info
