I've got a MARS rail for my mod 5 and I've got the NF 5.5-22 scope. What rings or mount do I need? The first page is a little confusing. It says MARS rail but also nightforce unimount and base?

The NF unimount/rings and NF base are if it uses the Badger IMUNS which attaches to the chassis not the receiver like the MARS/MIRS did. the normal NF ultralite rings I believe would be correct, not sure on the height for them however.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe they were the High (1.125") Ultralite rings (A107).

These are so that the objective lens will clear the rail on the MARS and line up with CNVDs

Anyone know what the deal is with a GB seller known as fred1352?  He is selling a bunch of Remington MARS rails.  I have emailed him and he claims to know nothing about the rails.  Doesn't know if they are long action or short.  He claims they are take offs but when I asked him if the screws are there, he says no.  A little weird.

His location is pflugerville. My shop is right there. If he would meet I would check it out for you. I assume just a bunch of stuff he got and knows nothing about. Just a guess but missing screws and they look fairly new in the picture. Like hey I got some stuff in a box and these were in there. Anybody on gunbroker should know LA from SA you would think. They look new.

My Mk13 Mod5 is finally complete. My KAC Mk11 Mod0 "NSW Return" suppressor cleared the Form 4 on Friday so @Great_Balls_Of_Fire (@Mtxtwelve) and I went out yesterday evening to stretch our matching Mod5 clones out. It was my first time shooting distance with the rifle and the first time shooting it suppressed.

My Mk13 Mod5 is straight from HCS. Glass is NF 3.5-15 FFP.

Heres a pic of my rifle (PVS30 not mine)

Youtube link is of me and my Mk13 Mod5 with GBOF's left foot making an appearance. He struck the 700yd target first. Also the winds were "swirling".

Looks Great! You get to try out the PVS30? How did you like it on the MK13?

Got all the parts plus your old stock you sold me just waiting to go to Alan once my suppressor shows up to HCS. Wish I knew about those NSW returns when they were still available. Did you order yours direct from Knights or did they release them through certain dealers?

They were a limited release year or so ago from HCS. Kevin only had 6 or so and none have shown up since. Odds are they were a limited release. Great to hear you got all the parts man!

PVS30 is dope. Saving my penny's for one as we speak.

Do I have to run a m110 FH with the mk11 suppressor I bought? It's a mk11 mod 0. The whole point was so I didn't have to put the flash hider on my mk13.
the description in small arms sales says it mounts with the m110 hider. I don't think that's right. I did not buy it there but mine is the same part number. 98440

No, the M110 FH is not necessary nor will it operate with the suppressor as far as I know. Contouring the barrel is a must when utilizing the Mk11Mod0 suppressor.

Here is a shot of how the can mounts onto the barrel, notice the contouring. Yes it looks like a whale penis. All Mk13Mod5s look like this:

That's what I thought and last night I was googling the mk11 vs m110 can length and read the small arms sales description that says it mounts to the m110 hider. I have an m110 can the whole reason I got the mk11 suppressor. Freaked out a little. I know when they assemble my mk13 they will fit the can to the barrel but I also read an m110 can has to be fitted to the m110 barrel. I've never heard of that either. A person from knights said they shoot your gun with 20 suppressors and chose one. That sounds retarded. Maybe they can do that before they ship out military packages but for civilians I don't see how it's even possible logistically.
And I love the look of the "whale penis" on my m110 and mk13.

1. The M110 and the Mk11Mod0 suppressors are two different beasts.
2. M110 suppressor was not placed on Mk13mod5 (No Mk13 had a M110 suppressor)
3. The M110 does not have the contoured barrel to accommodate its suppressor.
4. Not sure where you're finding this info that's leading to you freaking out

I have all my parts for a mk13 mod 5. I have an m110 suppressor. I was just planning on using the m110 suppressor on the mk13 for basically the same look like I think dangerdan or someone here did. my thought was why spend another 1400 on a suppressor that looks the same but 2" shorter. I knew I would have to have the mk13 built with an m110 FH. so then as I think more about it I think I would really like to have the correct suppressor and I really like the way the barrel looks with no flash hider and contoured for the mk11 suppressor(tapered)(I think). on a whim I contacted Bernie at B3 armament and he had a mk11 suppressor in stock. I decided to buy it since it was available. I buy it knowing now I don't have to have the huge m110 fh put on my mk13 and ill have the "correct" suppressor and ill have the barrel contour I think looks cool. fast forward to last night. I'm skimming the interweb and just wondered the exact measurements on both the m110 suppressor and mk11 suppressor. really wondering exactly how much shorter the mk11 is. by google I found a small arms sales ad with a description of the mk11 suppressor. knowing they are hooked up with kac I figure its a good source. as I read their ad it  stated the m110 fh and double gate latch as the mounting method for the mk11 mod 0 suppressor part#98440. at that point I wondered if I had just bought a suppressor that I would still have to have the huge m110 fh mounted on my barrel for. with all the talk about "turn in" suppressors and I know there is a version of the mk11 suppressor that DOES  use the m110 fh I got confused and was hoping I did not just make a mistake. my intent with purchasing the mk11 suppressor was to A.-eliminated the need for the m110 fh and B- have the correct suppressor. mostly to eliminate having to use  the m110 fh. the suppressor in the small arms sales ad was the same part number as mine so I panicked for a minute thinking I had bought the wrong version mk11 suppressor for eliminating the m110 fh. come to find out their ad is wrong apparently. so that was the reasoning behind my post.

Should I nab an M24 trigger for the mk13 mod 5 and what do they go for normally?
@elvis121-I saw the ad for that m24. Is that price average for an M24? I'm thinking about looking for an M24 or M40.

Edit-bought the M24 trigger. Didn't want to miss it.  Comes with the profile sheet and data from Remington. Still waiting on the mk11 mod 0 can to send it all for assembly but what the hell. Figure it will save some money on triggerwork maybe ???? Haha. Yea. I spent 5k on a gun and saved a few bucks on trigger work. .....rationalization. It sounds good.

Honesty- I thought it was cool as hell.

I don't know how much it costs to tune a trigger.
All the M24 triggers I've seen were in the $300 range.
Stock Rem 700 triggers you can basically get for free.

I have a stock Rem 700 trigger in my Mk13, and you can definitely tell it's tuned.
Very fine tuned.

Looking at doing a Mk13 Mod 7.  Going to be ordering the chassis and action next week if all goes to plan.  Does anyone know if the top rail supplied with the chassis is tapped for a Rem 700 action or a Stiller Tac300?

I assume the Stiller, as I don't think any Remington actions were used on MOD7s. Call up Mile High Shooting, they for sure could tell you, their the NA Accuracy International Service center and(I believe) their biggest dealer.

Those with access to the MK13 Mod 7 TRS/IPB, I would really appreciate some help.  I’m trying to confirm the exact recoil lug used on the MK13 Mod 7 for a spec clone build.  It should be listed in the illustrated parts breakdown table with a part number.  It would also be great if you could confirm the muzzle brake/flash hider part number/s from the TRS/IPB.

For reference the MK13 Mod 5 documentation states the recoil lug is part number "301-01G” and the operators manual says it’s 0.250” thick.  I’d love for someone to confirm the same info for the Mod 7!

For reference the MK13 Mod 5 documentation states the recoil lug is part number "301-01G” and the operators manual says it’s 0.250” thick.  I’d love for someone to confirm the same info for the Mod 7!

From the Mod 7 TRS, SW370-CV-TRS-010:

"Receiver includes trigger and receiver mounted bolt stop assembly. Receiver is
tapped with 8-40 scope rail mounting holes to accept scope rail. A 0.250 inch
thick recoil lug is installed between barrel and receiver. Barrel is a 25 inch and
fitted with a flash suppressor to reduce visible signature and allow installation of
SOCOM 7.62-RC sound suppressor, 4 groove, 416R stainless, with twist rate of
1 turn in 10 inches."

"SOCOM 7.62-RC sound suppressor with Quick Detach (QD) locking collar
attaches to the weapon over the barrel mounted FH762RC-5/8-24 flash
suppressor."

Seems very ambiguous as to what barrel is used for the Mod 7

MK13 Mod 7 Barrel Info

There used to be a pdf out there somewhere showing how to turn the Lilja blank to the mod 7 dimensions. If you contact Lilja they can probably point you to it.

The MK 13 Mod 7 barrel blank is referenced as a "Taper 147" contour at Lilja.  It runs about $350 and can be ordered directly from Lilja.  PDF link below from Lilja's website, notice in the DWG number it specially references the MK 13 Mod 7.

I saw their Mk13 Mod7 barrel but in their description of the barrel they reference Chris Kyle's rifle which if I'm not mistaken was a Mod 0 and Mod 5?

Correct, they are different barrel blanks.  All 3 are made by Lilja, however different tapers.

MK 13 Mod 0 = Lilja  "Tactical Taper"
MK 13 Mod 5 = Lilja  "MK13 Mod 5 Taper"
MK 13 Mod 7 = Lilja  "Taper 147"

All 3 barrel variants have the same "guts".  They're all .30 caliber, 10 RH twist, 416R SS, 4-groove, however the outside tapers vary based on changes required to support suppressors/etc.
