My new 10/22 came with a weaver style base for scope mounting. Is this base any good, or should I look to the aftermarket for something better? I'm mounting a Leupold Mark AR 1.5-4. Use would be general plinking and and maybe some hunting.

If you would like a 1 piece mount/ring system, check out the DNZ mounts. I have 2 on 10/22's and they are top notch.

I got a 1913 rail section that screws onto the top of the receiver from LaRue Tactical.

The weaver rail that came with mine was junk. It wouldn't stay tight and my scope wouldn't stay zeroed. I bought a Tactical Solutions rail and it works great.

I had ordered one, then waited about 6 weeks for it and canceled. I installed the rail that came with it. Haven't had a chance to shoot it yet and see how it holds up.

Mine was also junk.  So were the inexpensive but name-brand rings I bought.

Get good rings and a good base.  Install them properly.

EGW is what I used on my 10/22 Sporter and it has performed flawlessly.

I have a Scope base from Power Custom that attaches to both the receiver and the barrel.

With how faster .22lr drop you want a scope base with some cant, otherwise you're going to run out of elevation in your scope. Another factor is the 10/22 is known for have barrel "droop", the barrel tends to shoot low because of how it's mounted. You should ensure the screws for the V-block are only tighten to 10in/lbs to elevate this slightly. I would suggest getting a 20-25MOA base, it will let you maximize your scope.

I use one from DIP, Inc and it works outstandingly and I frequently shoot my 10/22 to 300yds

No, no you don't. I had it. With a 25yds zero, it only left me with 2.2mils of elevation in my scope. You want some with at least 20moa cant

I certainly do not have this problem with the Kidd scope base.

The Kidd base works just fine.  Implying otherwise displays a lack of valid information
