OK, so I shot this target at a measured 115 yards, according to my Leupold range finder. I realize it is supposed to be at 100, but I didn't have enough ammo left to do it again.
Remington 700 Varmint, 2004 production, which includes H.S. Precision stock from the factory. The only other mod to the rifle is that I had the barrel threaded for a suppressor that should be in my hands soon. Leupold Mark 4 LR/T 4.5-14x40 Mil Dot. Harris S BRM bipod. Rear bag is just a home made flat sandbag. Ammo was my hand loads: 168 grain Sierra BTHP over 41.3 grains of IMR 4895 with a Winchester primer and a C.O.L. of 2.800".

This is really a non entry as I did not make it under 1 MOA and did not best my previous entry with the same rifle, but figured I'd post it anyway. This rifle had never seen factory match ammo, I was trying to see what it could do with FGMM. I was not very focused today and pulled a couple shots bad, so it's still not a good baseline for the rifle. I think I'm going to shoot this again before the rifle gets rebarreled with an 18" stealth.

Recipe is as follows: Lake City brass 2013 headstamp, 22.1 grains of 8208 XBR, 7 1/2 benchrest primers, and 77 SMK. This was my first time shooting this particular hand load recipe post load development. Groups will keep getting tighter as I get this hand loading shit dialed in. This is a DCM contour 20" Krieger barrel. It has a 1/7 twist. |

Loading 25 good rounds and subsequently taking 25 good shots is easier said than done. |

So the 2 targets I received to upload were the 25 moa pistol target, and a create your own moa all day? Does that sound correct? I thought the BFL moa all day is the one going up?

Gun shoots so nice, I shot MOA twice... Shot 10 groups consecutive. I shoot bottom right to left working bottom to top on each target. Right target shot first. Shot prone with bipod and Ruger squeeze bag. Nice day. About 85 degrees with no wind.

I had to move the scope on my RPR so I decided to shoot the challenge as I re-sighted in. However, after 3 group, I quit in frustration.
My range no longer allows us to shoot prone from the ground, instead we have to shoot from these wooden tables: 
Basically a plywood table on top of a wooden table that's not particularly stable to begin with. I can see the difference while behind the scope, particularly horizontally. The effect is apparent on target as well: 
I know the horizontal dispersion is from the damn table as its happened before. Looks like I'm going to have to find another range to do the MOA challenges. |
