That is some pretty incredible sewing skill.

You definitely have skill and patience.  The added duck bill was really interesting as well.  I've pondered this with a few packs, like the 5.11' one with the rearward ability to carry a rifle, but thus far stuck with more inboard rifle carry, a la Eberlestock.  But that thing gets heavy.

This isn't mine.  It's a tutorial I came across online when I was looking for something else.

That guy does excellent work though for sure.

Is there any company that makes a universal beavertail similar to the one at the end of the tutorial?  I have a ATS Cobra 2.5 but would love the ability to hang a rifle off the back.

I'd bet, if he wanted to the OP from this thread could.

I'm very sure he could.  I have access to a sewing machine that could do it, but I currently lack the skills to use it.  I may need to change that.

I have plans to make some of my own designs that I've had for decades, but they aren't at the top of my list right now.

I'll approach them similar to how I approach pouches, with the pack cloth lining, padding, specialization and modular open architecture.

I had some 3-day bag designs back when I was in that I have since seen some companies do sort of, but not really.

Bags are easy to do if you follow the techniques shown by the tutorial.

They get more complicated when you get into different frame types.
