Yes that is pretty darn magical

How far are you from the lands?  I noticed as I loaded closer to the lands that my fps went up, but my group sizes didn't change so I stuck with magazine length which was about 0.030 from the lands in my rifle.  If I remember right my loads that were 0.005 off the lands were about 50 fps faster than my loads at 0.030 off with the same powder charge.

Sorry I did not see your question until now but this recipe is for my gas gun.  Because I am restricted by mag length, I just load to COAL.  It has shot so well that I have not worried about screwing with the seating depth.

It's totally different for me depending on what brass I'm using.

The only 2 brass types I've used so far are Winchester 7mm-08 necked down, and Lapua .260 Rem.

Been looking for 4350 since I got my 6.5 creedmoor. No luck. Am having good results with RL-17 that you could try. Using 42.0 grains of it in my 10T 6.5 creedmoor with a 5R 24 inch barrel. Getting 2795 fps recorded from my labradar.

I've swapped to IMR 4451.

42.9 was getting my 2925 in my 260 with a 140 ELD.

My barrel runs fast so don't expect that kind of speed.

SD of 6.3.

Its supposed to be a little more temp sensitive than H4350, but it has performed well for me over the past month.  I have run it out to a mile and shot in a  match yesterday and it did very well.

The basement build:

41.3 H4350
142SMKs
Lapua brass
Fed210
2.230 BTO
26" 1:8 Bartlein
Tactical match chamber .088FB, .298NK

2767 fps when chrono'd w/ less than 20rds on the barrel and 45F. I'll recheck to see if it has sped up some now that it's got just over 200 on it.  41.5 and 41.7 did good too, but opened up to .35 and .44moa.

I hit a similar velocity spike/node at 43.0 with IMR 4350 and 142g SMK

At 42.8  2800fps
43.0 2901

All same components from same batch/reloading session.  (Savage LRP 26")
No pressure signs, but I'm sticking with a lower node (42.3) as it is a closer match to what I get from factory FGGM velocity and zero.

I thought I'd try a stock load for my Mausingfield M5 with 24" Krieger 5R using both Lapua 139s and the 140 Barnes Match Burners.

Peterson brass, Federal 210M, 42grs of H4350, loaded to 2.800.  I thought I'd start with this load and COAL and tweak, but they each performed very well!

The Lapua averaged 2846fps with an ES of 18 and a SD of 8.

The Barnes averaged 2815 with and ES of 23 and a SD of 9.

The short answer is my tOBR likes the factory Hornady 130gr ELD-M.

As to a load, these have been reported to perform well:

Berger 130 AR Hybrid
42.9g Reloder 16
CCI 200 Primer
Hornady .260Rem Brass
2.184 to the Ogive

Hornady 130 ELD-M
40.8g of H4350
F210M
Peterson brass
2.79 COAL

Hornady 140 HPBT
35.8g Varget
F210M
Peterson Brass
2.80 COAL

130 Sierra TMK
F210M
47.0 gr 4831sc

There's a 27pg thread in the LaRue forum discussing the .260 tOBR in case you're interested.

ETA - Here's what I shot the other day in the tOBR and it was lights out:

Peterson Brass, F210M, Hornady 130 ELD-M, 42.2g H4350 loaded to 2.775.

Has anyone seen any additional load data for IMR 4451. I'm just starting out reloading so I'm a little timid until I can find something in writing. I'm not even sure which manual to order that would have it. Any help is appreciated.

I DID load the 4451 powder i posted about earlier, and with the same charge 39.5 speed is AV 2520!   I still have 2 lbs of this still so i plan to shoot it up, but since VV is more consistent in speed and acccuracy i will probably stick to it .

i also have a bottle of N150 i am reloading:
39 grains of N150 AV 2650 again not blazing.  but super accurate @ 100 yards for me.   I will get this load up to 2700~ and probably leave it as is

I have a 20" CTR.  I've been shooting prime but plan to load for it this winter.  If you said what bullet you are using I missed it. What are you using?  I'm thinking of starting with the 130 Berger hybrid.

Edited to add:

Tikka CTR 20"
43.6g RL-16
140 Hornady ELDM
Prime once fired case
CCI BR-2

Velocity 2747.4

In my 22" 260 gas gun I've had great luck with the following:

123 Lapua Scenar
38.5gr Varget
Necked down 308 LC brass
CCI LR Primers
Seated to 2.277 (Hornady bullet comparator)

This gives me ~2800fps and a 10FPS SD out of a 22" barrel.

For my bolt rifles, I've had lots of luck with the Berger 130 AR Hybrids. That said, I can't get anything to work with that barrel and H4350. Everyone on these forums seems to love it, but I cannot get it to work well at all in any of my 4 260 Rems. I get 75-100 FPS less, but much better accuracy with H4831SC; the only downside is you've got to use a drop tube and slow pour, because just about every load is compressed otherwise.

As for my bolt gun .260, currently I'm running a 130 AR Hybrid behind 45.5 of H4831, jammed .005 using Lapua brass and a CCI LR primer. I'm running these 2925 out of a 26" barrel.

Here’s an old hunting load I used to shoot

243 Horn brass necked up. 210m sparkler. 47.0gr RL19. 129gr SST seated at 2.800. 2850fps. Very accurate out of 3 of my 260s. A tad warm as it leaves a slight swipe. SSTs are violent expanders and get the job done. These 6.5s tend to be excessive in the carnage department.

This target had a group to the right that someone else shot and 1 shot low middle. They didn’t take the target down so I used it. 4 shots are one ragged hole in the middle.
