I am new to the sport of Precision Shooting and the accuracy game. I am the type of person who reads, researches and then reads some more. It would help me and hopefully others to have a listing of resources you find helpful. If you provide book names, links or any other sources I will attempt to consolidate them in this post. I will try to organize the information in as follows:

Rifles & Cartridges
Ballistics & Theory
Technique
Equipment
Reloading
General

These are just my initial thoughts and I am open to suggestion.

I will start with a couple I have found helpful so far:

Rifles & Cartridges:

Captrichardson's post Which Round/Rifle? Read This First, Then Ask! http://www.ar15.com/forums/t_16_1/453_Which_Round_Rifle___Read_This_First__Then_Ask_.html

Ballistics & Theory:

Applied Ballistics for Long Range Shooting 2nd ed, Litz, Bryan, Applied Ballistics LLC 2011 ISBN0615452566, 1st edition dated 2009
Understanding Firearm Ballistics 6th ed, Rinker, Robert, Mulberry House Pub Co 2005 ISBN 0964559854

My Reading List

If you have questions on any of them fire away.

You can find them at Amazon, Sinclair, Midway. NOTE - per the list, some of the Sniper titles are only available to LE or MIL

Best of Luck,

I would recommend a good DVD for you to visually observe.

Rifles Only has some of the best.  Their volume 1 "The Fundamentals of Marksmanship" is a must watch.

Thanks, fellas. By the way, here is the scope I recently ordered:

Weaver Super Slam Series Tactical Rifle Scope - 2-10x36mm Illum. EMDR Reticle Matte

I was initially going to buy a Vortex Viper PST scope with the same specs, but, man, I just felt that the Weaver was too good of a deal to pass up. Plus, a lot of reviews were stating that the Weaver was actually pretty good, plus it's made in Japan.
