I keep finding all sorts of mixed reviews all over the internet while trying to purchase an archery specific rangefinder.

I dont want a rangefinder that goes out a mile. Just an archery specific one but I do want to get the best one out on the market.

Can anyone make any suggestions for me please?

Thanks a lot!

Well, I'm a little late to the game...but here's my answer

Leupold.

I've used Nikon, Halo, Leupold, Vortex, and a couple other randoms I can't recall...

My Leupold RX800i TBR DNA does everything I need it to do, great glass, angle adjustment, etc.  I got mine for a steal on Ebay...but they're not too expensive.

A vortex or Leupold with an illuminated reticle.  I have a Leupold RX 750, and while ranging trees and such at daylight, I have to range an object and immediately hold the unit to the sky so I can read the numbers.
