THE IMAGE ABOVE IS A PAID ADVERTISEMENT I know nothing about compound bows, this is the only one I have ever held, to be honest. I have access to a press, and would like to restring it myself as a learning experience, but I do not know how to find a string for it. If anyone can point me in the right direction, I would greatly appreciate it. ![]() ![]() |

I had a Whitetail II with cams, and that isn't one. Don't know what it is.

Yes!!! After googling some images of Forked Lightning, that is definitely my bow! Thank you very much!
Now, how would I go about buying a new string for it? |

OK. I will admit, I am extremely ignorant when it comes to archery. I know nothing about it. However, I want to learn.
I would really like to restring it myself with a bow press, as a learning experience. Is there any place that sells replacement strings? Can I just buy a string for a similar bow? I am guessing not. I would think that different bows need different strings.
Thanks for putting up with the new guy. |

Is the string broken, or is it just unstrung?

It'd be safer to take it to a pro shop. It looks like it was dry fired and blew up.

There is still tension on the limbs, it did not come completely un-done. I can get a better picture of the break tonight. |

I just remembered, you can see it in the first picture of this thread.
On the upper part of the string without tension, you can see the t fitting that is unbroken. The one on the bottom is broken. |
