THE IMAGE ABOVE IS A PAID ADVERTISEMENT
i got this bow in a trade among a few other odds and ends. it appears to be roughly ten years old, just judging by the design. someone dorked around with the limbs and got them out of the pockets and then fired it that way apparently. the string is rubbing the cams in this state and has a couple of frayed spots. the little sticker with model and string info is gone, so i am at a loss. is this thing worth getting adjusted and restrung? i really don't have much invested as this was just one thing in a bundle trade i took for one of my knives. no biggie, but would be a good learner bow for my son. he shoots a long bow and would like to branch out to other designs. i normally shoot a martin recurve, so my compound knowledge is limited, at best. thanks for any info.

If you can find a serial number anywhere on it you may be able to look it up,here

Or post your pics on archerytalk, someone there will know.

Is there any damage to the limbs?

I wouldn't shoot it until the limbs are inspected and set back up properly, including a string change. It could be pretty bad for that string to let go at full draw. At the least, it would develop a lifetime flinch.

I'd take it over to a proshop and have them look it over.

+1 on taking it to a shop for inspection and tuning. I see the PSE logo all over it, but it looks like it's a couple of years old or so.

Here's the link to PSE archery: http://www.pse-archery.com/products

I just noticed that there's no arrow rest visible. Shooting off the shelf will SUCK at the very least. Another reason to have a pro look at it.
