I want a crossbow to launch ropes into/over trees to put up wire antennas.  I don't need and upgrades, or super goodies.  Was just wondering if the very cheap NCSTAR crossbow will perform my chore good enough?    like I said it is not going to be used for target or hunting just Amateur Radio antenna support lines.   Or can you suggest a different, inexpensive crossbow?

I tried using a recurve long bow to send a rope over a tree limb once so I could pull the dead tree down. It was a pretty light rope. The results were pretty bad. I wound up having better results trying the rope to a heavy chunk of limb about 8 inches long and throwing it.

EDIT : Just realized how old this is. Whoops. Will leave my answer for anyone else who has a similar question I guess
