I have only shot ~400 shots , no dry firing of course. It broke at full draw on the attachment point of the lower cam... not the part that goes around the cam. No injuries besides a little string slap. The arrow just bobbled thank God. Peep is gone too. Sounded like a .22 going off.

Wonder if the shop or Mission will cover the string considering it is one week old and where the breakage occured. This had nothing to do with my shooting or treatment of the bow, burrs on cam, etc. We'll see tomorrow. Main thing is, is the bow now safe????

What sucks is I just about had the thing dialed in.

I wouldn't feel comfortable shooting that bow again. Pretty hard to tell what damage was done to the limbs. Good luck, hopefully they do what is right and don't try to blame you.

The cam cables may have saved the limbs, but I'd send it in for a once-over if they will cover it.

I've had strings break full-draw and on release before and the limbs were fine.  Got a decent whelp on my arm once...

I've seen an old Martin Firecat explode, guy switched from aluminum arrows that it was designed for to carbons that weighed half as much, almost like dry firing every shot....

Well the shop is looking over the bow today and replacing the string/peep on their dime. It broke at the string loop where it attaches to the cam. I told them to do a one-over on the limbs as I am leery about shooting it. We'll see.

After a couple weeks of not touching my bow, I'm back in the saddle. I just laid it down after getting it fixed. Kinda scared it would blow up on me, but after a few draws and shots with a flinch, it's all good. Shoots better than ever.

Ready for bow season.

I'm gonna revive this thread.  How do you like that bow after 8 months of using it?  Get a deer?
