THE IMAGE ABOVE IS A PAID ADVERTISEMENT I went with a friend to go check out some archery shops in the San Diego area yesterday just to look, but walked out with a used Browning Afterburner compound bow, T.R.U. BALL release, and 5 VForce arrows all for $230.00. The bow has a Mongoose PSE sight. Arrow rest, Limb saver stabilizer, peep sight, & cable guard. All for $149.99. I think it's a 1998 model? But not sure. I shot 3 arrows with it at the shops indoor range, felt really good. I think after I shot it, the owner was thinking he priced it to low. He said the PSE sight was around $100.00 new in it's day, and the arrow rest around $80.00. When I first went in to the shop, I was looking at the PSE Stinger & Brute bows and also some Bears, but at this time they are way out of my finical reach. But then in the back of the shop hidden away like a bunch of family embarrassments was the used bows for sale. And the Browning Afterburner was hanging on the wall all set up and ready for me to give it a new home. My friend got himself a cool new PSE coyote takedown and 12 arrows. It's a super light bow! I can see myself getting something like this someday. Can't wait too try it out at the range hopefully this saturday coming up. Just wanted too share my newly contracted sickness & disease with you all. This will be my second time battling this serious illness, I hope I am NOT cured of it this time around!
Browning Afterburner . It's a crappy cell pic, but it's a pic. |

I was happy with the groupings, even when my arms and shoulder was starting to quit. Shoulder and arms where done by the end of it.
It's set around 65 lbs of draw weight, so it smoked me. But I'm working out the shoulders and arms, so next time hopefully will be a little better all around. But I had a great time. Any recommendations on backyard targets? Also, anyone know of or can recommend a Archery shop(s) in the Mesa, AZ. area? Also any good books I should get? I got a million questions. Thanks all |
