THE IMAGE ABOVE IS A PAID ADVERTISEMENT
After about a 4 year hiatus of any type of competitive shooting, I am finding the time to return and need to set up my gear again. I am looking for some of the kydex AR mag holders. Cany anyone recommend a specific brand or provide any insight on their experiences? Thanks!

bladetech kydex pouches with tekloks are the most popular.
I like wilderness mag pouches myself, theyre kydex reinforced nylon, the wrap around your belt, and are secured with velcro. They are easy on and off and thats good when you have to set your belt up differently from stage to stage.

2 mags and a pouch for less than the pouch sells alone.

Check out the Chris Stewart Ready Tactical line. SKD Tac and CPWSA carry his stuff, his pouches are slim and save space on belts. They are used by alot of 3 gunners and USPSA guys in the South East.
It starts with your head, then use your hands, if you try it in reverse, you don't even have a chance.

Chris makes great stuff and is a good guy. I use his pistol pouches in IDPA and USPSA. I have 2 of his AR pouches and they are great. Hopefully I will see him soon to pick up some more!

Safariland for me. They retain the mags, have adjustable tension, have a clean release, and slide right into the ELS belt.

I used to run a combo of Wilderness and 3 Gun gear pouches which worked pretty well too. I never lost a mag at Kyle Lamb's old match which says something about their retention!

Probably have to go custom. I like the HSGI Taco for M1A mags.

Rick is a good dude. I live about 5 miles from him...We shoot IPSC and IDPA together. He makes good stuff, but he is a one-man show. His lead times are a little long...I believe worth the wait, however.

I know your post is a month old, but if your still looking for kydex holders for M1A mags I could make you some. I've done mag holders for my guns and handgun holsters, and sold a few. Here's an example of one of my M1A holders. Just PM me if your still looking. I do it as a hobby so I can usually have them done within 48 hours and in the mail. I can make them for left handed, right handed, change the loops to any size belt, ect.. Colors besides black are possible also, it would just cost a few bucks extra and take a few days more since I would need to order it, black is really all I keep on hand.
