And yes you are seeing it correctly. I'm left handed handgun and right eye dominant so I shoot rifle/shotgun right handed so I need rifle mags on my left side.  
Forearm shell holder. I really need to get that california(???) arm band shell holder that holds like 10 or 12 shells that I've seen others use or maybe just suck it up and use those plastic double stacked shell holders.

I am not an expert or a pro by ANYONE'S definition. However, it looks to me like you've got a great start. I started with a blackhawk serpa holster and my pants pockets for mags... Welcome to the fun! We've got a kid who is cross eye dominant who is going to shoot with us this Saturday. He's asking for help but I don't know what to do. Right now I've taped his shooting glasses over his dominant eye hoping he can shoot with the other eye...

Heck you are ahead of me. Wear mag holders that came with my XDM and a bladetech holster right on my pants belt. Rifle mag one 30rd in the gun, one 30rd in back left pocket and a 20rd in front left pocket. Shotgun, I have the same type holder on my left forearm, same type on shotgun stock and 10 lose in the front right pocket. May have to get one of those extendo mag couplers that increases your mag to like 42 rds (rifle). IMHO there should be a rifle mag lenght standard, who goes into battle with a 5 foot long mag sticking out of their rifle.
