THE IMAGE ABOVE IS A PAID ADVERTISEMENT
I've recently ditched my 870 (traded for a supressor) and am looking to purchase a 3-gun applicable shotgun. After reading long and hard, and almost pulling the trigger on something I now realize I don't want, I think I want a 20-22" barrel over an 8 round tube.

I can pretty much get an FN SLP right now ready to go at a price I'm willing to pay.

But after some long hard thought, I'd pay few hundred extra for a benelli. But where do you find a Benelli that meets the above criteria? They all seem to be 18.5" with 7 round tubes.

Which Benelli model are you looking for?
It is not "might OF", it is "might HAVE"

I think the preferred order would be M2, M1, M4. After that, whatever meets the criteria in the first post.

a comment... the magazine spring is a very critical part...for a 21" model (mine is a M1S90, field gun) an ISMI spring 13" longer than the installed length of the magazine tube is needed for trouble free operation... I had to shorten mine to 12" as I shoot Fiocchi Aero Slugs and they are slightly longer....although I've milled out the loading port, and dovetailed a 10/22 sight, the gun is pretty staight forward... the 21" field grade gun with a Briley mag tube(8+1)... didn't see the need to lighten the bolt or make a "ghost load" modification to the lifter... did polish the lifter to keep from cutting little chunks out of my fingernail...

So where on earth do you find a 21" Super 90 Field? All I can find is 26"+ with the occasional 24".

One in stock. I'd pick this one up and send it in to Accurate Iron to get it race ready.

I would vote for the 24 inch model now that most three gun matches allow you to load more rounds after the buzzer.

Go to you local authorized BENELLI dealer

order a 21" M2

Call Brownells and order the NORDIC mag extension for it.

I also added a arrendondo carrier release button and had CRUMS reshape the lifter

Derek45... do you have any cycling problems with the loaded side saddle in temps below 30F?.... my M1 doesn't like to shoot reduced recoil slugs in cold weather with anything on the side saddle...

Well I am not Derek but I have shot well below 30 degrees up here in Alaska with a side saddle on my M2 with no issues. I use 3 dram 1 1/8 of shot. Also with most three gun matches allowing you to load more rounds after the buzzer I am not so sure that the 21 inch model is the way to go anymore. I prefer the 24.

Glockfan... you are probably correct on the 24"... I shot 5 of the North Carolina Tactical Matches put on by Kyle Lamb... the first of which I had a 26" 1100 and had to shoot out of a Ford Tempo... looked for a hacksaw on the way home... cut the barrel to 21" for the 1100...the 1100 went down during the first Ft Benning match, and replaced it with the 21" Benelli at that time, just in case Kyle would put on another "shoot out of the smallest car known to man" match...
