I know this seems fairly insignificant but I'm having trouble deciding which way to set this up. I only have one AR and am trying to set it up as a one size fits all hunting/SHTF/3 gun rifle. I know most will recommend against a large scope as my primary optic but due to this primarily being a hunting rifle, that is how I'm keeping it.

I will do 3 gun comps with the scope set at low power and using the offset 45 sights for close up stuff. I shoot with my support hand far out on the forearm and my thumb (which activates the light) is pretty much at the end. Therefore I have to move my hand back just a hair to turn on the light. I am having trouble sorting through the pros and cons of the either the light or the sight in the front on the forearm. For example maybe the light or the sight would be more protected in one position or the other? Any advice would be appreciated.

Edited for clarity.
Scorpionmain: I came into this world screaming and covered in someone else’s blood. I would have no problem with going out the same way.
