The farther the better IMO. If you run a 300 yard zero you will not have to hold over as much onthe farther targets. The 2011 3 Gun Nation Tactical Irons Divisonal Champion, Kurt Miller runs a 300 yard zero on his rifle.

Offset irons... 25 or 50. I presume you are using an optic if you have offset irons.
Primary irons.... 200 or 300, depending on what is the farthest shot you will need to take. |

I run an A2 drum with a 50 yard zero.
Depending on the course, I can dial up to 100 or down to 25/300. Either way, it's +/- 1.5" out to 200+ |

I have my irons set at 25 yards but i have dot set at 100 the iron sights with the dot are not ideal at all

25yds is what I did for offset irons. I find the more I practice with my new Bushnell 1-6.5 scope, the less I use the offset irons. If I get to the point they just look pretty, I will move them to my new Heavy Metal Optics gun that has a higher mag scope on it for longer shots and isnt broken out as often.
